Adele had one thing on her mind that she needed before returning to the backyard. She was craving her favorite ice cream, and her babies wasn't going to be satisfied until she got it, which led Dele to the kitchen. Unfortunately, she ran into Mila sitting at their kitchen island, texting quietly on her phone until she noticed them. Adele hoped she would have stayed gone, but sadly, she was back. However, the whole thing seemed suspicious, which caused her and Luca to look at each other with raised brows.
"Where the hell you two been? I leave for twenty minutes, and you go missing while everyone else is outside. You always somewhere fucking like either of you don't have a care in the world." Mila said, making Adele glance at Luca while he stared at the woman like he wanted to tear her head from her shoulders. "This is our house, Mila, in case you forgot, and if you have a problem with it, you know where the door is."
"I didn't say I had a problem jackass. I'm saying you have company, and it's rude to leave your guests unattended when you are supposed to entertain them. Also, tell me why I wasn't invited to your little meeting. I'm a part of this mafia, too, and you had met while I was gone." She spoke, looking irritated as if they cared.
"Everything isn't meant for you to hear, especially when it's a secret from the person we didn't invite, Mila." Adele said as Luca quickly looked at her like she was dumb. Adele knew Mila was stupid as fuck at times, and she knew how to play into her silly ass games. Mila's birthday was in a few days, and she told her Erik normally threw her surprise parties, which she hated.
"When is it? I tell Erik the same thing each year, and he still throws those lame-ass parties. Sometimes I wonder why I married the asshole." Again, she and Luca looked at each other as Mila's phone vibrated on the counter, causing her to look over and then back to them. Whoever was texting her, she didn't want them to know because she never checked it.
"He hasn't decided on the date yet. We'll let you know when we find out." Luca nodded as he kissed Adele's cheek, leaving out the door. Dele would have stayed and eaten her ice cream, but seeing Mila ruined her appetite. She trusted this woman, and all the kindness Mila showed her was fake. Therefore, she quickly made her way to the door until Mila's hand grabbed her arm.
"Adele?"
"Yeah?" Adele replied, but she had nothing to say to the girl, and she couldn't brush her off. It would have made things suspicious, so she stopped and turned back to the girl with a smile. "I want you to know I love you like a sister. You know that, right?"
Mila spoke the words of a guilty person, which caused Adele to turn around with a cocked brow. She wondered if this was her way of a confession or if she thought Adele was as dumb as she was. Either way, she needed to speak her mind before Adele messed up and go off on the bitch. "That much I know, Mila. Is something wrong?"
For a long moment, Mila sat there playing nervously with a strand of her hair as she bit her bottom lip. She fought herself mentally as she took a deep breath, taking Adele's hands into her own. "I have a confession— I brought Luca's ex here. It was petty, but I wanted to see if it could start something between you."
Adele took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. She was furious and wanted to fuck Mila up, causing her eyes to scan the room, landing on the knives sitting nicely on the counter. Instead, she chose the least violent way and slapped Mila hard as she could, knocking the woman off her stool, but that wasn't enough. Adele wanted her to suffer, pushing her to punch her a few times before allowing herself to calm down to speak.
"What type of friend would do that to a person they call their sister or brother? You say you love me, but sweetie, you sure the fuck don't show it. The only person you love is yourself, Mila, and here I was calling your bitch ass my best friend, but after today, I don't want to see you back in my fucking house unless you were invited, which will be never. Now get the fuck out of my fucking face, you selfish little bitch! You're no better than my real siblings, and I refuse to spend another minute on your sorry ass!"
