A month later, Scarlett was no closer than the month before. She still knew nothing about Mila and Victor's plan. Or which one was behind the damn thing? It was frustrating, but the good thing was that she was on the right side for the first time in her life. They trusted her, and she would try her best to get the needed information, but there was a problem. There was no way to get information from Victor— if he knew anything at all. Mila was secretive, and Scarlett was sure she was behind everything. Then, it was hard for her to hide; Victor had cameras everywhere and was always in front of his computer watching the cameras. Scarlett was doing her best but knew Adele and Luca were tired of her coming to them with nothing. Plus, it was getting close to Adele's due date, and today was no different. Scarlett knew nothing.
Adele was frustrated. She wanted to know... no, she needed to know what Mila and Victor were planning. Her babies would be here in two and a half months, if not before since she was under a lot of stress that led to hypertension. She knew it wasn't Scarlett's fault, but Dele still wanted to beat the woman's ass for taking too long. Instead, she let out a deep breath and dismissed the woman as she made her way into the kitchen to eat.
"Are you feeling okay tonight, Adele?" Emma asked as she entered the kitchen behind her. Slowly, she turned to the girl, still upset about catching her and Erik in their pantry. It was her pregnancy, causing her to hold a grudge over something that should have been forgotten weeks ago. Dele also wanted badly to send the video to Mila just to be petty, but Luca reminded her she was better than her and deleted it.
"I'm good but frustrated. Then I'm sad because Luca will be gone for the next two days."
It was hard on her. She was used to having Luca by her side daily, and this was the first time Luca had left since he brought Dele to Germany. She didn't care if he was six hours away or still in Germany. She wanted to be with him, but Irene refused to let her go since she was having trouble with her blood pressure. Plus, it was mafia-related, which meant he had to take Erik and his cousins with him, except for Liam, who was helping watch over her.
Still, Adele felt vulnerable, especially with Victor and Mila at large. They knew nothing of their plans, and she was left without the one person that made her feel safe. Yes, Axel was there with her, but he was hardly there during the day. It also didn't make it better that Mila was in and out of their home. They wanted to make it seem like they knew nothing, but the shit made Adele feel uncomfortable since she knew Luca was gone. Anything could go wrong, but Adele had to have faith in Ben, Jake, and the other guards who changed out every two hours. She also had James, who no one got past without a reason. However, her mind still wandered, thinking of all the bad that could happen while she sat there and ate until Liam entered the kitchen, scaring the shit out of her as he gently touched her shoulder.
"Damn, I'm sorry, Dele. I should've made my presence known before touching you. I wanted to see how you were doing before I left."
"That would have been a great idea. You scared the fuck outta me, Liam— Wait, you're leaving? Where's Axel? Is he here yet?" She questioned, panicking as she clutched her belly. Liam immediately started to rub her back, trying to calm her. Adele knew Axel had stepped out earlier that day, and he wasn't back as far as she knew. Only she, Liam, Emma, and the guards were there, and she didn't feel right without Axel.
