Am I Dying

Three days later, Mila was still lost, as she thought of ways to get to Adele. She wanted to get Adele out of the house, but it seemed like that wasn't going to work. Therefore, she had to wing it and hope for the best. She knew Luca had guards all around their new house trying to protect his wife and babies, and it wasn't like she could walk up to them and talk. She fucked that up by trying to bring Scarlett between Luca and Adele; now they weren't on speaking terms.

Mila couldn't think of any other reason for Luca to throw her to the wolves because everything was fine before that. She should have thought about her plan more, and now she was lying in bed, watching Saxon as he slept. Mila couldn't lie; he was a sexy man, but he wasn't Axel. She should have killed him, but she couldn't. It was something about him that made her want him around. In Mila's mind, Saxon was nothing to her, but she was everything to him, which made it easy for her to mold him.

It was sad, but he did do whatever she told him and was good at his job. If it wasn't for Saxon, Mila would have never learned the location of Luca and Adele's new home. It took some work to find a hideout but with his help they ended up five houses down from theirs as Mila weighed her pros and cons of what to do about Adele.

She couldn't kidnap Dele because Mila knew Luca would move heaven and earth to find her, which meant that was out of the question. She needed to get Adele away from Axel and killing her seemed to be the only way. Mila was sorry, but Adele was too close to him and their kids. She was sure if she left her there for too long, Adele would figure out her secret. The best thing would have been for her to leave... but she couldn't let Axel go. He was hers, and now there was another issue.

Axel had reunited with Luca's birth mom. Mila had heard the rumors but didn't think they were true. She was also standing in the way. They were a little too close and now she had to develop a plan to eliminate her. This was something Mila couldn't allow, and hopefully, after today, she could put an end to all of it.

So, Mila slowly pulled herself out of the bed as she read the clock. It was 4:30 am, and she had learned Luca's schedule, she knew he normally went on his daily run around 5:00 am, leaving her to quickly get dressed, text Ethan, and telling him where to meet her. Since they were precisely three minutes apart, Mila waited until she saw Luca pass, letting her know it was time to put her plan in motion.

Within minutes, she saw Ethan in the shadows around 5:03. This gave Mila the signal to quickly run downstairs as she stepped over the old couple's bodies in the foyer before leaving the home. She had to kill them although she could have taken other measures to gain access. However, none of that mattered to her because the only thing Mila could think about was getting to Adele as she ran straight to their home with Ethan on her heels. Now, all Mila had to do was sweet talk Ben to get past the gates.

"Damn, look at you," Mila spoke as Ben turned to her with a wide smile. She knew he had a thing for her, and she had to use it to her advantage. "What about me?"

"You're looking sexier than ever—"

"Thank you, Mila, but our Don just left, and Donna isn't taking visitors at the moment." He frowned as she gave him a smile, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I completely understand, but I have this gift I wanted to give to Adele directly." She smiled, holding up a gift bag, causing the man to cock a brow.

"I haven't seen the babies or Dee in a while. This is my only chance, and I don't want to wait any longer... please? I promise it will only take a minute or two. It will be our little secret." Again, she smiled, but this time, she stepped closer to him and rubbed his arm. "If I get in trouble for this, Mila, you're going down with me."

Mila quickly nodded, walking past Ben as she waved Ethan along until Ben stopped them. "Hell no, I said you could go in. Who is he?"

"My bodyguard. You know how Erik and Luca has been lately. They want us to have a guard everywhere we go." She casually said, practically skipping past Ben while he nodded. What Mila didn't see was Ben tapping his earpiece while he slid Ethan a gun as he passed. Upon getting into the house, Mila was met with Blu, and as always, he walked over, sniffing her and then walking away. However, it was unusual for Luca to let their dogs roam.
