She's Dead

Everyone was accounted for, but Scarlett and Adele knew she was in the home. Thirty minutes before the ambush, she and Victor were watching television with Vince downstairs. It was the first time she saw them act like a real family. There was no way she made it out before everything went down. Worry crossed Victor's face as he jumped to Adele's words and rushed to her room as she reached to open the door.

"Wait, Dee, let me because we have no clue what's on the other side of the door." Adele understood as she took Vince from his arms while Victor slowly opened the door with his gun drawn. Her heart was pounding erratically... scared of what they would see. Maybe she should have taken the baby back to Luca or her sisters, but she was here now with Scar's door fully opened, and the first thing Adele saw was Scarlett's body riddled with bullets.

Clearly, whoever killed her didn't show her any mercy. They empty their clip in her... this wasn't a hit. It was rage. Scarlett upset the wrong person, and they took her life. Then they made sure to take the time to write slut across the wall in her blood.

"I guess one of those hitmen was her lover. Still, this isn't right, Vic. No one should die like that. Scar didn't even have a chance to defend herself."

"I agree, this was overkill. Let's hope we killed the bastard who done this... and if Vince turns out not to be mine. No one is to know. Scar wanted me to be his father then I'll be his father. I signed his birth certificate, legally, he's mine, and I'll do anything to protect him. I may have hated some of the things she did, but I can never hate him... I don't know. Maybe that's why I kept her close."

The real reason was because he loved her, but as Adele and the others said, he would never admit it, but she understood. So, instead of speaking her mind, Adele nodded, handing him his son. Victor looked hurt, but once Vince was in his arms, he smiled, cradling him close as they walked back to her room. It was all the proof Dele needed, and it told her why he kept Kenzie at afar. Even after knowing Scar was cheating or whatever he wanted to call it.

However, once back in her room, they informed the others what had happened to Scarlett, and she told him to send a cleaning crew to her room. On the other hand, Luca looked happy knowing he hated the woman with a passion but didn't show it for his cousin's sake. Although Adele couldn't say she could blame him. She, too, would hate someone who claimed they love you but slept with your father, but her death was uncaused for... then again, that's what happened when leading others on.

"Know your little man will never hurt for nothing, Vic.... but can we please talk about Adele's shooting skills?"

"What about them?"

"Luca, did you? Or did you not see her shooting? She didn't miss a single man on the ground, and all of them were straight through the head except for about six of them. Your wife killed over sixty men like she was camping somewhere on Call of Duty... what the fuck?!" Erik expressed excitedly as Luca and Victor laughed. She had a lot of practice and had to thank Kellan and Obioma for teaching her. Even though Luca seemed mad that he wasn't her teacher, his feelings about the situation changed once he saw her skills.

"Ja, well, you have to thank Kellan and my Mother for that. But what can I say? My wife's a fucking beast, our enemies just don't know it yet."

"Damn right she is, and I can't wait until they see it." Victor smiled, rocking Vince as he stirred in his arms. Adele laughed at his comment after everyone started talking and laughing, but Jacob. He was still upset about their mom.

He was mad at Adele and her decision to send her off to get the help she needed. He didn't understand Barbra had been living through hell for over thirty years. She didn't know how to think for herself, even though she made it seem like she could. She understood this, and so did their sisters. Therefore, she made the way over to him with a soft smile, sitting beside him as she snaked her arm around his torso.
