Adele hated it when plans didn't go her way. She and Luca wanted to leave for the States two days after killing Saxon, but things didn't go as they thought. The day after killing the man; Luca, Josephine, and Tyler ended up sick with the flu, and it wasn't long before the whole house had it. So, they had to put their plans on the back burner, frustrating Adele. She needed to get her mom away from her sperm donor before he killed her, but she also needed to make sure her husband, children, and whoever else was sick got well.

At the moment, the only ones not sick were her, Obioma, Gabriella, Jacob, and the twins, which was good because she had someone to help her, especially with Luca's hardheaded ass. He wouldn't listen to reason, and it was driving Adele crazy. As of now, she was hiding out in the theater watching a movie with Nova as the twins slept when Jacob walked in, causing Nova's crazy ass to smile. The woman didn't know how to leave others alone, but she didn't bother Jacob.

"Damn, look at all that sexiness. Come over here and let me feel on it." Like all the days before, Jacob laughed, shaking his head, which caused Adele to smile. She couldn't believe how well her little brother fit in with Luca and the others. Truly, she thought he would be upset with the way Luca took her from him, but to her surprise, J was grateful. Plus, his training was going well even though she didn't agree with him becoming a killer.

"Hey, Nova, you look beautiful as always." He smiled, making Nova fan herself with a big smile. "But I need to speak with my sister alone. Do you mind?"

"For you, sexy, I'll do anything."

"Yeah, that's something you can do with your husband... or boyfriend. Whatever he is to you." Again, Nova smiled, standing, but before she left, the woman made sure to hug Dele and Jacob, holding on to him a little longer than she should have. "Are you sure there's nothing wrong with her? A normal person doesn't act as Nova does. Sometimes, she's an adult, and the next moment, she's a child... but that's not what I came here to speak to you about. You're being secretive, and I want to know what happened last week, Dee. Why were you covered in blood, and who did you kill?"

Adele sighed. She knew Jacob wanted to know the truth, but she didn't know how to tell him. Something happened to Adele that she didn't want to relive, and killing Saxon helped her, but it was behind her somewhat. Talking about it opened back up those wounds. "You're too curious for your own good, J. Some things are meant to be left in the dark, and they are things I prefer not to talk about."

Besides responding, Jacob sighed, rubbing his hands down his face, annoyed. Adele knew he wanted to be involved and disliked when people hid things from him, but as she said, she wasn't interested in reliving the past. "Can we do this another day? Nova and I were enjoying our movie, and you ran her off."

"Dee, you can't keep shit bottled up inside. I've seen what that done to you, or have you forgotten? We lived in the same home as our money-hungry, abusive sperm donor. We weren't allowed to express our feelings, and the others could. If we... if you asked for something that wasn't given to you. You got beaten for it. Adele, you may think I didn't see most of the things that happened, but I did."

Jacob was annoying Adele. Although he meant no harm, it was stressing her out with all the talk about their dad and the mess she went through growing up. Yes, he saw some of it, but he still didn't know all the pain she suffered before then. However, Adele released another deep breath as she paused her movie and turned to Jacob with an unreadable look.

"J, what you need to do is focus on school and what career you want to go into, not me. I killed someone. Please leave it as that."

"Why are you like this Adele? I swear you're just like Mom. You think if you say things are okay, it will be okay. That's not how things work, Dee. Talk to me, or I'll go to Luca—."
