It was a quarter to six, and Barbra couldn't help but think about the weird call she got some weeks back. Adele was heavy on her mind while she thought about how Jacob went missing with no trace. If that wasn't enough, now CJ was missing while Ethan turned up dead, and the twins just up and left. Charles had to be behind this. The man was money-hungry and didn't care who he hurt. However, he blamed what happened to his precious children on her, but he was blind to what was happening around them. Someone was trying to make him look suspicious, and she knew why, especially after the police started asking questions surrounding Adele's death.
It was hard to think about. Therefore, Barbra forced herself to think about something different while cooking Charles's dinner, which didn't help. Thoughts of poisoning him crossed her mind; unlike him, she couldn't bring herself to do it. She felt weak... hell she was weak and had fail her children. Barb stood back and let the man plot her daughter's death because she was too scared to stand against him. She didn't deserve her kids, but they still loved her somehow.
It was Charles that made her feel this way, she was his prisoner, or more like his maid, although she brought home the most money. Still, Barbra was stuck beneath his legal contract, but the man wasn't smart enough to ensure she signed over her money. Either way, she was trapped until he died, leaving her to let out a long sigh as she sat waiting for the roast in the oven while she looked over some pictures of Adele and Jacob.
Something wasn't right with this. Barbra saw Adele's dead body... what was left of it anyhow, but in her heart, she didn't feel it was true. Now, her baby boy was missing, and it got her thinking... thinking about what she missed as someone knocked at her front door. It was unusual because most people normally rang the bell unless it was her mother, but it was too late for her to be out. Therefore, she quickly checked her Ring app, but no one was there. It was strange, and the first thing she should have done was lock all her doors. Instead, she went to the door only to find a white envelope on the porch.
Curiosity took over as Barbra cautiously picked up the package and ran back inside. She was crazy, but some of Ethan's belongings were in the envelope, so she wanted to see what else was inside, which made her open the package and take out its contents. The first thing that caught her eye was a picture of Adele. They were recent; some were of her alone while the other was with a man, but Adele's handwriting on the back of the pictures threw her off.
'I know you are in danger. Please hold out until I can get to you and play along... burn these so he won't become suspicious.'
It was true! Her daughter was alive, but what was she planning? But Barb didn't have time to think; she had to get rid of the photos, causing her to quickly find a lighter and burning them in the sink, as Charles walked in while the last one burnt. He was complaining like always, as Barbra sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Barb, why the fuck was my front door locked?" Again, she sighed, rolling her eyes once more while she washed the ashes down the sink. "Don't tell me you burned my damn food. I swear you're so fucking dumb at times... and where is my food."
She was so sick and tired of his complaining, but still, she swiftly placed his food in front of him without a word. It caused him to become upset, and the next thing Barbra knew, his hand slid across her face. "I'm talking to you, bitch! How fucking crazy are you?"
"I... I'm sorry, what did you say?"
"Lord, I should have killed you a long time ago." He said, shaking his head. "I asked if CJ contacted you and what you were burning. Damn, this shit is nasty... you have fell off your game. I should've stopped somewhere to eat— fix me a sandwich because I'm not about to eat this shit." Again, Barbra said nothing as Charles threw the food she cooked into the trash. It was beginning to be a normal thing, but it told her he had found another little whore.
