A few days later, Luca was still a bit shocked about the news of his mother. He wanted to be upset with his father, but he was grateful to have his mother in his life. Now he understood why his wife was acting so weird. She was refusing to speak about their plan to deal with Mila. Plus, she and Kellan had become close friends. Luca should have known something was up when the two started hanging together, but Nova was always around. So, Luca suspected he was trying to get Dele to help him make up with the woman he couldn't see who loved him.

"Are you okay?" Adele asked, staring at him while she tried to sit up in the bed. It was late, and she should have been sleeping; instead, Dele was worried about him when it should have been the other way around. Luca knew she was still hurting, but as always, Adele hid her feelings. He knew it had to do with the way she grew up. "Yeah, I'm still a little shocked. My Mother has always been within reach, and I was too busy with something else to realize how different I was from my cousins. What about you, Liebe? How are you doing? Don't say great because I know you are hurting."

"I'm hurting but not for myself... for Liam. He was the one who lost his life, and I can't stop thinking of ways to end Mila. I want a part of her downfall, Luca. I want the muthafucka head on a stick who killed Liam, and I won't rest until it is done." Luca smiled, nodding. Dele had officially turned into Luca, and he loved it. Knowing eight months ago, she would have ran at the thought of killing someone. Her first kill, she cried for days, and now Dele wanted to kill, which he didn't mind, but it had to be after their babies were born.

"When the time comes, Liebe, I'll let you have your fun by my side. Look, I want you to know I'm not mad at you about Liam or doing the DNA test. I'm grateful you care enough to help find my mother and you tired. You tried to save Liam— this is all on Mila, and what they did will not go unpunished. They will pay, but first, we need to find them. They can't get that far. Everything she had belongs to us: all her money, credit cards, even her car." He shrugged, making her turn to her quickly to him, tilting her head.

"Baby, that means she could have thought ahead. Mila isn't dumb; she's always plotting, especially with Erik. She can't stay hidden forever. She has children if she has the heart to care, but Mila knows the first thing you would have done was check her accounts. Meaning she would have withdrawn money beforehand. Money you wouldn't have thought about." Adele was right; Mila would have planned ahead, and Luca couldn't believe he had overlooked it. Mila knew he would start monitoring her accounts. Therefore, she wouldn't use them, which made him think as he quickly grabbed his MacBook, going straight to Erik's accounts.

"You see anything interesting?"

"Ja, Mila's been slimming Erik's account. She was trying to set him up, which is stupid when she knows Erik and I are best friends, and I'm the accountant. Still, she hadn't done anything that stands out." Luca sighed as he turned his laptop to where Adele could see it. Carefully, she read over the numbers, letting out a deep breath. "Mila knew what she was doing. She wanted to put a wedge between your friendship, but I don't understand. All this is becoming confusing, Luca. Nothing makes sense; I understand she's in love with you, but this is too much. Do you ever wonder?"

"Wonder what?" He asked, making his wife sigh, touching his bare leg, forcing him to look at her. He knew what she was asking, but Mila never did anything to stand out to him. Growing up, she always seemed interested in Erik and no one else. She never showed interest in anyone else that he knew of. "Wonder what you did to make her want you. Or how long it's been going on. Luca, you had to notice something... touching you weirdly, giving you certain looks. Has she even tried any advancements?"

Luca arched a brow, staring at his wife and shaking his head. If Mila ever did any of those things, Luca never noticed them or cared to. She was his little sister, and that's how he always saw her. Although it was sad to have someone lusting after you when they didn't give two shit about them other than the fact of being brother and sister. Yeah, it wasn't by blood but by Luca, but it made a difference to Luca. They were raised as siblings, and that's how he treated her.
