It's in the DNA

Two days later, Adele still hadn't heard anything back from Dr. Moore, and she was sitting on pins and needles for the results while Luca was starting to worry that she was hiding her feelings from him. She loved him and wanted him to know the truth. Although he thought it had something to do with the shit that happened almost a week ago. Adele was trying to keep herself focused on her husband's DNA, not useless people like Mila and whoever she sent to their home. Adele knew their time would come soon enough.

"Adele?"

Quickly, she turned to the young girl standing in the doorway. After a full week in their home, Gabby still was scared to do shit without asking. Truly, it was driving Adele crazy, or maybe it was the fact she wanted to call Kellan and have him call to threaten the good Dr. Moore, but she knew it would get them anywhere. Therefore, she had to wait, but Dele didn't know how much longer she could. "If you're looking for your brother, he's out, but your cousins are in the barroom getting high or playing the game."

"James... I think that's his name said to let you know Dr. Moore was here to see you. He wanted to know if he should send him in here or the office."

"Tell him here, and could you please get Kellan for me?" Gabby smiled and quickly left. Moments later, Dr. Moore walked in, and it wasn't too long before Kellan came in, taking the seat next to Dele. Like her, he was ready to see the results as Adele handed the doctor an envelope of money. "Mrs—"

"Take it and leave!" She yelled while she slowly opened the large envelope the doctor handed her. She carefully read the results, stopping at the first thing that stood out. "You're seeing this, right?"

"How can I not? Luca's 47% Nigerian, 34% German, but what are all those other percents, and why the hell he don't look mixed?." Kellan asked as Adele pulled out Liam's DNA, showing he and Luca were only related by their fathers, which wasn't a big surprise. Still, Dr. Moore did the same test on Liam's hair as Luca, showing they both had Scottish, Irish, and Swedish roots.

"That means your parents aren't fully German. I don't know why Luca doesn't look mixed, but he is darker than you and the rest of you besides your brother." Adele shrugged as Kellan looked over his shoulders in thought. "Your Grandmother said something about not being from Germany, but I don't remember, but if you look here, Luca has Mali Benin and Togo roots, which is common for people from Nigeria... that's what I'm told."

Kellan nodded, looking over the papers with a sigh, while Adele thought of a way to tell Luca what his father had been hiding from him. First, she would give Axel the opportunity to tell him the truth before her. "Text Axel and ask him to meet us in the living room. I want you to allow him to tell Luca before I show him the papers." Kellan wasted no time texting his uncle while Dele continued to look at the paper. She knew something was off; yes, Luca looked white, but she believed it had something to do with where he lived. Germany didn't get that much light; still, he was tan, and a few shades darker than his dad, uncle, aunts, and cousins, all but Johan, which Dele was sure was also mixed.

"Kleine, Kellan tells me you needed to speak to me— so why are you still here?" Axel smartly scoffed, but Kellan ignored him and shrugged his shoulders. "He's here for a witness—"

"You think I'll harm you, Adele?" Axel was serious, but Adele laughed and shook her head. Kellan was there because she wanted him there. Plus, if it weren't for him, she wouldn't have found the truth so easily. Dele had her suspensions, but working with Kellan helped them come to light. However, Dele shook her head and handed Axel the DNA results, allowing him to look it over before staring back up at her weirdly.

"I know Gabby is my daughter. Why did you do another DNA test, Dele?"

"That's Luca's DNA. As you can see, he's 47% Nigerian, meaning his Mother—"
