Adele suddenly woke up to something touching her face. Her first thought was Luca. Instead, it was Mila brushing her hair out of hair as she glared down at her frowning. Quickly, Dele gave the woman an uncomfortable look while adjusting herself in the bed. Afterward, she noticed an IV attached to her hand and something sounding like a heartbeat. Adele was in the clinic, which caused her to sit up and rub her temple, thinking about how she ended up there. Immediately, she remembered Erik's last words before passing out. Luca was shot, and she was lying in a damn bed because her emotions got the best of her. Adele needed to help Liam save her husband not sleeping.
"Where's Luca?! Oh my God, is he alive?! Please tell me he's alive?!" Adele cried as Mila stared at her momentarily with an unreadable look. She looked as if she was disappointed, which made Dele feel uneasy, causing her stomach to turn. Everything she had eaten that day wanted to come up, and she quickly reached for the trash can, emptying her stomach while Mila watched.
"Easy, Dele," Mila spoke, holding back her hair with a heavy sigh. "You don't want to overdo it... Luca fine. Fine as he can get after being shot twice in the chest. He's a hard man to take down." She paused as Adele looked at her swiftly. "Both bullets missed his vital organs, and he's resting in your room. Liam had to sedate him because he knew he would be right by your side if he didn't. Although it's you who we are worried about." She finished as Adele cocked a brow looking at the woman like she had lost her marbles. She was fine. They acted like people didn't faint every day. It wasn't a big deal. Dele wasn't the first person who passed out after being told a loved one was hurt.
"Well, I'm fine, as you can tell. People faint every day, Mila. There is no need to worry about me." Adele stated as Mila stared at her stupidly. She didn't need her pity. What Adele needed was her husband and for Mila to stop looking at her like she had something on her face. "Can you go get Liam..."
"Adele..."
"Don't fucking Adele me. If something is wrong with me, Liam will tell me. Go get Liam so he can get this shit off me." Adele said as Mila huffed and quickly left the room. She didn't need Liam, but she wanted Mila out of her face as she sighed, looking over to the monitors and down at her hands with another heavy sigh as Liam walked into the room, glaring at him before sitting.
"You and my cousin are one and the same. Both are hardheaded and refuse to reason with anyone. I can see why he loves you... but how are you feeling?" Liam spoke as Adele stared at him. It was the first time the man sat and spoke with her, but he still seemed a bit irritated. On the other hand, Adele started unhooking herself from the machines as Liam stood to stop her. Instead, he paused, letting her do what she wanted with a deep sigh.
"Do you see why I came and got you now?"
"Not now, Mila... Adele," Liam annoyingly said while Adele continued her mission until she found the bandages in the cabinet. "I'm just saying, Liam, she is like her fucking husband, if you get my drift. Like Luca, you can't stop her from doing shit when she's mad or want something to go her way. I know you have seen what she does to Luca when she's mad. I'll be damn if I let her knock me the fuck out. Adele told me to get you, and I did what she asked. Now you handle her... I have somewhere to be." Mila spoke, leaving as Liam's head fell back with another sigh.
"I hate my job sometimes."
"That's good to know, but can I leave now?"
"Weren't you going to do that whether you asked me or not? Yes, you can leave. Luca will handle you, Donna." Liam said with an attitude which caused Adele to turn to look at him. "You don't have to be a fucking smart ass about it, Liam, but thank you."
"This is going to be long fucking nine months," Liam whispered as Adele glared at him. "I wasn't being smart about anything, Dele... but I want you to remember if my cousin asks you left on your own free will. Luca will not have my head for your stubbornness. Dealing with you and Luca on the same day is enough for me. I'm going home."
