Adele was tired of being stuck in the bed. It had been two weeks, and all she could do was look at television or listen to Luca and whoever else talk about nothing. Dele was ready to see her babies and take them home... she was ready to go home herself, but she knew that couldn't happen until their angels came. All of this was killing her, and it didn't make it better that she was alone at the time... well, not completely alone.

Luca was in the bathroom showering, and lucky for her, he left his phone. Since she was tired of the TV, Dele decided to play a game of UNO until her mind wandered back to the talk she and Sibylla had. For some reason, her mom popped into her head. She missed hearing her voice so unwillingly she dialed her number but immediately put the phone down as Luca walked into the room. "Why does it look like you've seen a ghost, Liebe?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. I was playing UNO—"

"If that's true, then give me the phone." It was like he could feel she was lying to him. Or maybe it was the look on her face. "Why? Or are you scared one of your whores will call while I have it?" She thought she was being funny, but Luca arched a brow with a weird smirk.

"If I thought that, my love, I wouldn't have left it here in the first place. I don't have whores; I have a wife who is all I need." Adele smiled as she tried to delete her mother's number, but Luca took the phone before she could. Afterward, he walked away to dress and returned with a look Dele couldn't determine.

"Who were you trying to call?" He asked, taking a seat and rubbing her legs. He didn't seem upset; it was more like Luca was concerned, causing Adele to sigh. "M-my Mama, but I couldn't do it."

"Why?"

"You know why Luca; to tell—"

"No, I mean, why couldn't you call her? You had many opportunities; this isn't the first time I left you with my phone. You also had the landline at home and your phone before it was broken. Why didn't you call her then?" He asked while Adele played with her fingers. She didn't know why and couldn't explain why she wanted to do it now, but he was right. She had many opportunities but never took them. Both times she tried; Dele chickened out. She didn't know what to tell her or how to explain her kidnapping.

"I wanted to, and I tried to call her, then I thought about what I would tell her. I couldn't say: Hey Mom, it's me, Adele. I faked my death and married the man who kidnapped me. So, what would I tell her?"

"Good point. I love you and will do anything for you to make you happy, Adele. So, if you want to call your Mom, you can. If they are truly heartbroken, they'll get over it. Tell them what you need to." Adele was confused. Luca had to be pulling her leg to see what she would do. Therefore, she took the phone and deleted her mom's number. She knew if her dad found out about Luca and his money, he would do everything he could to blackmail him. Dele loved Luca too much to do that.

"No... I can't do that or want to. If it were just my Mom and Jacob, I would, but my Dad, he's crazy—Luca, there's something I haven't told you, and I need to do it now." Luca nodded, but somehow Adele felt he already knew. Knowing Luca, he was waiting for her to speak.

"My brothers weren't the only ones that abused me... My dad was their influence. My older brothers and little sisters were treated like princes and princesses while I was more like Cinderella." She sighed, rubbing her belly while she continued to play with her fingers while avoiding his eye contact.

"He beat you?" Adele nodded, unable to look him in the eyes, and she knew it broke his heart. She knew it told him why she accepted what he did so easily.

"I-I know I wasn't any better when I brought you here, and I'm sorry, but fathers... Father should love their daughters and treasure them, not abuse them. I should be truthful as well, Liebe. I wasn't going to let you call your Mother. I knew there were holes in your story; therefore, I had your parents investigated by one of my freelancers in South Carolina. They found something interesting. Your family acts as if you never existed. They had a small memorial for you with a few of your aunts, uncles, and about three or four friends." Adele stopped fiddling with her fingers to look at Luca like he lost his mind. She only had one friend, and that was Khalil.
