The next day, Luca sat at the dining room table, thinking about what Adele shared with him the day before while she finished eating breakfast. He was at a loss and couldn't believe someone's parents would allow this or do things such as they did to their daughter. Adele's mother could have helped. She could have removed her daughter from the home, but it sounded like she was also getting abused. He knew things like this happened, but Luca never had someone close to him tell him they went through it.

He also couldn't believe the lies she was told about her appearance growing up. How couldn't they see the beauty in the woman before him? That was the first thing he saw... her beauty. And yes, Adele had curves, but she had a good head on her shoulders. There was more, but he was sure anyone could get the picture. Still, it left questions, causing Luca to wonder if she had told the whole story. He had a weird feeling there were more, and she was holding back, scared he would judge, but he didn't want to press the issue, but now... Now Luca knew he had to open up to her about his past, but it had to be later because they had an appointment with their new doctor in the clinic.

"Since you're a doctor, tell me, what are we doing today?"

"More blood test, and I'm guessing another pregnancy test. Liam only did the blood to see if I was pregnant. He didn't check my blood pressure, hemoglobin, cervix, or do an ultrasound."

"All diese Scheiße, nur um nach einem Baby, Fötus oder was auch immer zu sehen, es heißt im Mutterleib. (All this shit just to look at a baby, fetus or whatever it is called in the womb)."

"English, please? I'm still learning, Luca. You talk too fast sometimes or forget I'm still in the learning stages." Adele said, making him laugh as he nodded. Still, he had yet to learn what any of this meant. He didn't understand why women needed to undergo all this to have a baby. Luca always thought if the mother was healthy, the baby was healthy, but that was his opinion. He wasn't a doctor; thus, he didn't know, and the only knowledge of a pregnant woman he had was Mila, who didn't give a fuck what she did while carrying either of her children.

No matter what Liam told her, she did what she wanted. The woman still smoked cigarettes, weed, and whatever other drugs she was on. Nothing Erik said helped, and she wasn't his wife to care about. It was like talking to the fucking wall, but he guessed it was good that she stopped drinking and her children were born in good health, all but Ansel having asthma, and it was a good possibility that Sohpia had it as well.

"All this to see our baby on a black and white 2D machine?"

"Yes and no, Luca. We need the other stuff to make sure our child is developing correctly. Oh, before you ask, we can't see what we are having until I'm about eighteen to twenty weeks. Or until after the necessary blood tests are back." She smiled as he rolled his eyes.

"Ja, I didn't understand a damn thing you said, but okay. However, it would help if you spoke to me in terms I understand, Adele. I don't do doctor language, and I wasn't about to ask about the sex of the baby. I'm happy with whatever we have, but I'm sure it's a girl." Luca spoke as she shook her head and laughed, then motioned for him to follow her to the clinic, where they met Liam. He was walking away but stopped briefly to give Adele a weird look before staring at Luca. He knew what it was about... the new doctor he had just met and the one Adele had yet to meet until now. Quickly, Dele turned to him, about to run after Liam, until he grabbed her arm with a chuckle.

"What?"

"You know damn well... Luca, what is that? She looks like the fucking Wicked Witch of the West. What were you thinking?! She's not about to touch me— hell, she's going to scare the shit out of the baby when it's born." Adele whispered as Luca looked between her and the woman, not saying a word. "Adele—"
