Nowadays...

"Nini?" I call her name when she takes more than a minute standing in front of the bed, just looking around the room.

"Uh?" she murmurs, slowly turning her head towards me.

"You know we're not going to do anything you don't want to, right?" I say to calm her down.

She huffs and her shoulders sag a little, she's been nervous ever since I convinced her to come, but I have no intention of forcing her to do anything. However, I needed to know what could have happened to make her feel this way.

"Remember when I took you to the twelfth floor of the Delcour?" I ask, passing her and moving towards the basket of food and the minibar that I asked them to leave stocked there. Then I connect my cell phone to the suite's sound system and let Teenage Riot start playing at the same time as I open the balcony door and beckon her to stand there, holding out my hand. – "You let me see what was going on in your mind that day, and that's what I need now. Can you do that? For me?"

Nini's head hangs to the side, but after a heavy sigh she moves, coming over to me and taking my hand.

I would have given anything to have learned from Mads and to have a sense of her pulse using only my fingers, but I was pretty sure that at that moment, Nini was about to give up and run in the opposite direction.

"I know you're not going to talk about it, but I'm going to have to try to guess, okay?" I began, sitting down on one of the wooden chairs that had been placed there and pulling her onto my lap, keeping her hand in mine and putting the other on her hip. – "Do you regret it? Having your first time that day and with me?"

She turns and before I can say anything, I know that's not the case. Her brown eyes light up and her whole body reacts to the memory.

"No," she denies, shaking her head. – "I wanted it and I wanted it with you."

My heart warms, but I stay in place, trying hard not to kiss her at that moment, because I needed her to keep talking.

"Is that because it hurt? And you're afraid it'll hurt again?" I keep trying.

She gives a half-smile and moves closer to my lips to speak:

"Ivarsen, ten minutes after my first time, I was ready for the second," she jokes, putting her hand on the knot of my tie and loosening it.

And there it was, flying across that balcony, all my focus. My eyes go down to the neckline of her dress, with her breasts positioned against my body and my blood boils, waking up my cock that has been lusting after her for two weeks.

The chill of the night brings a gust of wind that makes her shiver and she settles into my arms at the same time as I put my arms around her, pressing her hips against me and starting to play with the strap of her dress.

"So... "

"Emory had a conversation with me on Aydin's birthday" she assumes, frowning.

"What did she say?" I ask, raising an eyebrow, not understanding.

"She..." Nini hesitates, but lets out a breath. – "I assumed we were together to her and she had that kind of conversation with me."

Her cheeks turn pink as she remembers whatever it was that they talked about and I hold back my laughter.

"And what did she say? To save yourself until the wedding night?" I tease her for a moment, running my fingers down from the strap to the place covering her lap.

"No," she denies, rolling her eyes and turning her face to the night outside. The moon is below us and despite the time of year, the sky is almost cloudless tonight. – "But the way she talked to me, the way she was careful and tender even though she was as uncomfortable as I was about the whole thing... I don't want to disappoint them, Ivar."
