Nowadays...
It takes a fucking long time to calm her down, and when she finally tells me what happened, we're already in the car. Which pisses me off that I couldn't go back to the bathroom and see if the bastard who chased her was still there.
"And you couldn't see anything again?" I ask, but I know that once again, this son of a bitch has found a way to find her alone and defenceless.
Nini shakes her head, hugging her legs on my car seat. She's cold and shivering, but this has nothing to do with the weather outside, but rather with the fear she's feeling so far. It's a real breakthrough that she's still communicating and, although I don't say it out loud, I wish she'd realize it at some point.
"And I lost my cell phone," she sniffles in a hurt little voice.
"It's okay, sweetheart," I say, running a hand through her hair and moving closer to give her a kiss on the cheek. – "Are you still cold?"
She nods a few times and I turn up the heat, then go to the back seat and invite her to come and sit next to me.
"This is the third time, Ivarsen," she reflects bitterly. – "And I'm still not sure who could be doing this, because I don't even have time to think about it, with everything that's going on! - she complains, putting her head on my chest as I put my arms around her."
"Nini, our list of enemies isn't that long" I assume. – "And if Evans is trying to tell us that he's still in the game, I don't doubt that he's the one who sent someone to scare you."
"But why? I'll be in that house tomorrow and he knows it!" she recalls, her eyes becoming watery again.
"I don't know, but... he's the only one left out of this equation" I think.
She stays silent, closing her eyes and shrinking even closer to me, until I see more tears rolling down her face.
"No, please don't cry," I beg, kissing her cheek.
"I'm scared, Ivarsen!" she declares, putting her hands on my face and looking into my eyes. – "And not just for me, I'm afraid of hurting it!"
Her brown eyes try to tell me everything she's feeling and I pull her onto my lap, placing her in front of me.
"I know, I'm scared too, but it's fine, you're fine and that's all that matters now" I try to convince her and myself, holding her there, but we know better than that.
For this reason, she takes a deep breath and kisses me as if she were diving into me to forget what had just happened and I reciprocate, my hand going to the back of her neck to hold her in place and my tongue adoring her mouth.
I knew that we were full of problems and that as much as we wanted to focus on one problem at a time, they were just piling up and at some point they would have to be solved and decided, even if impulsively, in the middle of a tornado. However, if I had Nini, just as I was sure that I would always have my family to support me, I didn't need anything else, and I could face whatever came my way. I just needed to make her understand that this was her family now, too.
Her fingers loosened my tie, removing it, and then returned to the buttons of my shirt, opening each one gently, despite her haste, and her mouth began to travel down my jaw, my neck and my chest, kissing and brushing her teeth, making my cock wake up and swell inside my pants.
We were in the middle of the school parking lot, but I couldn't care less about that, not at that moment. Most people were enjoying themselves inside the dance, the snow left a thin layer wherever it went and the warmth of our bodies as we stood there was perhaps all she needed to get warm again.
