Title: 5/10.

I feel that the title could have been related to Salantina instead of the story. This would not have given away any hints about the plot. While the current title is not bad, I would have preferred a title that focused on Salantina.

Cover: 4/10.

The cover could be improved. While the water surrounding the main subject is well done, it does not attract the attention of a casual reader. The cover looks good from a graphic designer's perspective but not from a reader's perspective.

Blurb: 6/10.

The use of the name "Fynn" gives away one of the main characters of the book. Using only "the new boy" would have been sufficient. However, the third line is quite likable and keeps the mystery alive.

Pace: 8/10.

The pace is steady and keeps the readers engaged without being too fast or too slow.

Character Development: 8/10.

The character development is realistic and well done. It is unlike most of the books that I have read.
Grammar and Vocabulary: 7/10.
I could barely find any grammatical errors, but the structure of the sentences was not good enough for me.
Grammar and Vocabulary: 7/10.

I could barely find any grammatical errors, but the structure of the sentences was not good enough for me.

Concept and Plot: 9/10.

I have never read a story about mermaids before, but this book makes me want to read more stories like it. The plot is not exactly unknown or unpredictable, yet it is interesting and engaging.

Writing Style: 10/10.

I love the fact that after every chapter, the author writes a small note relating the story to their life. It shows that the story is coming from the author's heart and not just an empty idea copied from another book.

Overall Enjoyment: 9/10.

I enjoyed the book and would read part II!

Rating of the Book: 8/10.

Overall, the story was good, but the title and cover could have been improved.

Total: 74/100.
