rain was sat by the side of a tv, remote in hand as she played back a clip from richmond's previous match, one that they had not done well in. she didn't know why ted had insisted she be there but she'd stopped asking questions when he requested she would be. she assumed he liked having her around, or at least the team did.

in reality, ted did it because she was the one of the kindest souls he'd met. everything she had gone through never stopped her from encouraging and loving the team as much as her heart could.

she had so much love in her heart and it was a miracle it hadn't been stamped out. and he knew he didn't know the full story. he knew she had probably gone through so much more than she had told them. so, he maintained the opinion that her kindness was a symbol of her strength.

"jan maas, that's shit defending," isaac yelled, pointing at the man.

jan maas agreed, "yes, that goal was entirely my fault."

"i don't wanna hear it. we need to get our shit together," isaac continued.

rain smiled, "isaac, babes, he admitted it was his fault, usually that statement would follow someone trying to make excuses. jan maas knows he fucked up, that's a start to getting your shit together."

ted nodded at rain, making her hit pause. nate went to blow his whistle but no sound came out. ted had switched it to an indoor one.

"hey fellas. listen, i don't care what our record is but i hear the chatter, people saying there's something wrong with us. that's not the way i see it. and here's why: i believe in communism," ted began, taking his place in front of the tv.

"bold statement coming from an american when your entire political system is shoved into one corner of the compass," rain spoke up.

"rom-communism, that is."

"should've let you finish," rain muttered.

"yes, you should have," ted replied. "but you never fail to surprise me with your broad knowledge of the world."

rain smiled, "thanks, i think."

bumbercatch spoke up, "what is rom-communism?"

"well, bumbercatch, it is a world view that reminds us that romantic comedies with folks like tom hanks, meg ryan, or, uh, julia roberts and hugh grant or-" he turned to beard. "who am i missing, coach?"

richard answered, "drew barrymore?"

ted hummed in agreement

"matthew mcconaughey, obviously," zoreaux added.

ted followed that with a matthew mcconaghey impression.

"the three kates," jamie said.

colin turned slightly, pointing at jamie, "beckinsale, hudson, winslet."
