rain was on her way to the changing room when nate caught her. he'd been trying to speak to her since he had restarted work at richmond. he wanted to apologise since she was one of the last people he had to talk to. ted being the last one but his betrayal had been the worst for him. ted was the man he had been trying to hurt.

"you are a very hard woman to get alone," nate spoke.

she frowned, stepping back slightly.

"oh god, sorry, not in a creepy way. i just wanted to apologise for everything. i shouldn't have spoken to you the way i did. it was wrong and if you wanted to punch me, i'd totally get it and not try and stop you," he rambled.

rain nodded, "thank you for apologising. i don't forgive you. i know what you were trying to do when you said that to me." she watched his face fall. "but that doesn't mean i won't forgive you eventually. you have to earn your place back with me and i'm sure you will. besides, you said worse shit to colin and will and they're fine with you. as long as they stay fine with you then i will too."

he nodded, "this has gone a lot better than i thought it would. i was convinced you'd hit me."

she smiled, patting his shoulder, "good chat."

rain frowned when she entered the changing room to jamie holding an avocado bigger than her face.

"wha-"

"it's from zava," dani informed.

rain nodded but said nothing else, instead taking a seat ready for ted's last pep talk. she spotted van damme with a new mask, saying he wanted to be called 'zorro'. she laughed quietly, realising it was a reference to said new mask (which made him look a bit like a superhero).

the coaches rolled the tv into the changing room, making rain move to huddle with the team to watch a 'look back' on their time together. she had given them access to all her videos and photos that she'd taken over the years. she hadn't known what exactly was being done with them. still, the result was something she adored, glad she had kept everything.

she smiled sadly, watching as some of the players began crying. she felt jamie grab her hand.

beard watched the team, "oh shit."

the team were not ready for the match, and all of them were reduced to tears by the end of the video. they didn't want to say goodbye to ted. (rain couldn't blame them for that, she was extremely against the idea too).

even roy was crying.

rain wiped her tears before she'd set out, trying her very hardest to stop herself from crying again at the sight of her friends on the field. she bit her lip as it wobbled, hoping to hold back her tears.

west ham was up one. and at some point during the match, she saw on her phone that man city had scored in their match.
