Sweet Sixteen
"Hey." Quinn muttered, sitting up on the couch as Puck entered the Puckerman house with grocery bags.
Hey, sorry I'm late." Puck apologized.
"What's all this?" Quinn wondered as she looked at Puck.
"I showered at school." Puck began.
"Why?" Quinn asked.
"I wanted to do something to celebrate your birthday." Puck stated. "So I picked up your favorites. Well, your favorites that you can actually have while you're pregnant."
Quinn nodded slowly.
"Sarah's at her friend's house, and my mom's at work." Puck said. "So I'm gonna cook for us, and we can hang out and do whatever you want."
"Even if that means lying on the couch watching chick flicks?" Quinn tested Puck.
"Whatever you want." Puck smiled. "I picked up bacon and cupcakes, too."
Quinn smiled back. "That's really sweet, Noah. Thank you."
Puck nodded. "I'm gonna get started on dinner."
"Can I help?" Quinn offered.
"I got it." Puck promised.
"Well, then can I join you at least?" Quinn requested.
"Yeah." Puck said. "Sure."
The pair walked into the kitchen, and Puck began making dinner while Quinn sat down at the table and watched him.
"If you change your mind, I can help you." Quinn told Puck.
"You should be relaxing." Puck shook his head.
"I still have another month and a half until the due date." Quinn reminded Puck.
"I meant 'cause it's your birthday." Puck clarified, smiling at Quinn.
Quinn smiled back and shook her head.
"I've been thinking." Puck said. "About the baby, and about us."
"Yeah." Quinn replied, taking a deep breath. "Me, too."
"I know you don't wanna keep her, but..." Puck looked at Quinn. "I wanna be with you. Like, as a couple."
Quinn furrowed her eyebrow.
"When we slept together, I didn't think any of this would happen." Puck continued. "But I care about you, and I want our daughter to come into the world with two parents who are more than just friends, even if we're giving her up."
"Noah, I-"
"No pressure." Puck interrupted.
"I appreciate that." Quinn said softly. "But I'm still not sure what I wanna do about the baby, and I only have a month left to decide. And until I do, I don't want anything to change between us."
Puck nodded slowly as he went back to making dinner.
"I'm sorry." Quinn apologized.
"No." Puck said. "It's cool."
"But I want you to be there." Quinn added. "When she's born."
"Really?" Puck asked.
"Yeah." Quinn told Puck. "Especially if we keep her. I don't wanna have to tell her her father missed her birth."
Puck smiled slightly. "Yeah, thanks, Q."
Quinn smiled back.
"Besides, you're gonna need someone to scream at." Puck said. "Why not let it be the guy who did all of this?"
