"Have you ever killed someone?"
"Mr. Puckerman, I'm so sorry. Johnny, that's not an appropriate question."

"Hey." Quinn smiled as she greeted Puck at the kitchen table. "How'd it go with Beth's class today?"
"Fine." Puck answered.
"Yeah?" Quinn asked.
"Mostly." Puck confirmed. "One of the kids asked me if I ever killed anyone."
Quinn frowned. "Really?"
"The teacher jumped in, but yeah, really." Puck nodded.
"I'm sorry." Quinn apologized. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Puck nodded, looking at Quinn.
Quinn put her arms around Puck, leaning over his shoulders and hugging him from behind.
"I did." Puck said softly, putting his hands over Quinn's arms. "Kill someone."
"Noah, you did what you had to do stay alive." Quinn pointed out. "That was your job."
"I killed a kid." Puck confessed. "It's not the same as killing soldiers. The kid didn't choose to be in it like that."
Quinn bit her lip.
"I blocked it out and worked on it in therapy." Puck explained. "And part of me forgets, but it still happened."
"You were doing an impossible job that required an incredible amount of bravery, strength, and sacrifice." Quinn reminded Puck.
"Yeah." Puck muttered.
"You're a hero, Noah." Quinn added.
Puck didn't say anything.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
