"Hey, B, how was the flight?" Quinn asked as Beth entered the house.
Beth ignored Quinn and went stomping up the stairs. When she reached her bedroom, she slammed the door behind her.
Quinn looked at Puck, who had just entered with Beth's bags. "What's that about?"
"She knows about Shelby." Puck answered.
"About you and Shelby?" Quinn raised her eyebrows.
"No." Puck shook his head. "She knows that Shelby was almost her mom."
"How does she know that?" Quinn wondered.
"Rachel told her." Puck responded. "I tried talking to her. I told her we love her and would've regretted not keeping her, but I think I made things worse."
"I'm gonna go talk to her." Quinn decided. "And then I'm calling Rachel."
"Maybe I should call Rachel."
"Let me handle it."
-
"B." Quinn said softly as she knocked on Beth's door. "Can I come in?"
Beth didn't answer so Quinn waited a few more seconds before entering the room. She closed the door behind her and looked at the brunette lying on the bed.
"Beth, I wanna talk to you." Quinn stated. "I wanna explain."
"Explain what?" Beth asked. "That you didn't want me?"
"We always wanted you." Quinn insisted.
"Then why were you gonna let Rachel's mom adopt me?" Beth questioned Quinn.
"Because when I took that pregnancy test and it came back positive, I swore to myself that I would do whatever I had to do to make sure you were taken care of." Quinn explained as she sat down. "Even if it was hard and even if it wasn't what I wanted."
Beth looked at Quinn.
"We were sixteen." Quinn reminded Beth. "Your father wasn't the man he is now, and I didn't think I could do it."
"So you had adoption papers drawn up." Beth said.
"Shelby signed them, but we decided to wait to sign them after you were here." Quinn told Beth. "Your father had been trying to convince me to keep you throughout the whole pregnancy, and I kept threatening not to put his name on your birth certificate if he didn't do things my way."
"When did you decide not to sign them?" Beth asked.
"The second I saw you." Quinn said. "I thought about it a lot, but as soon as I had you in my arms, I knew for sure that you were meant to be ours."
Beth smiled slightly.
"I would've spent my whole life missing you." Quinn added. "And I'm glad I didn't have to."
"Me, too." Beth agreed.
"We agreed never to tell you." Quinn informed Beth. "And I'm so sorry you found out like this."
Beth nodded.
"If you have any other questions or want to talk about this some more, let me know." Quinn added. "Don't hold back."
"I won't." Beth smiled.
"I love you so much." Quinn smiled as she pulled Beth into her arms.
"I love you, too, Mom."
-
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Quinn."
"Quinn, hey." Rachel responded. "What's up?"
"I heard you had a conversation with my daughter about her almost being adopted." Quinn began calmly. "This is your chance to explain that."
"I-I didn't tell Beth about Shelby." Rachel stuttered. "Shelby told her."
"Shelby told her?" Quinn asked.
"We ran into Shelby when we were out to dinner." Rachel informed Quinn. "I introduced her to Beth, and she made a comment on how we were almost sort of sisters because of the adoption so I asked her to leave. Beth was confused so we talked."
"And you didn't think to call me?" Quinn questioned Rachel. "Or Noah?"
"I did." Rachel replied. "But Beth started asking me questions, and I wanted to explain."
"It wasn't up to you to explain that." Quinn argued. "And Shelby needs to stay away from her."
"Is Beth okay?" Rachel wondered.
"I'm handling it." Quinn said as Puck entered the room. "I have to go."
Quinn hung up and looked at Puck.
"Rachel?" Puck guessed.
"Yeah." Quinn nodded. "Shelby's the one who told Beth, not Rachel."
Puck furrowed his eyebrows.
"I'm gonna go pay her a quick visit." Quinn decided. "Wanna come?"
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Puck asked.
"I'm going with or without you." Quinn clarified.
"I'll come." Puck decided.
-
"I thought I'd hear from you." Shelby said. "I just didn't think it'd be on my doorstep."
"You had no right telling Beth anything." Quinn responded.
"I assumed she knew." Shelby stated.
"You thought that's something we would tell her?" Quinn questioned Shelby.
"Do you wanna come in?" Shelby offered, looking at Puck.
"No, we're not staying." Puck replied as he tightened his grip on Quinn's hand.
"You're obsessed." Quinn said. "You're obsessed with what you think you almost had, but honestly, I would never have given my daughter to you."
"Stay away from Beth." Puck added. "Before we file a restraining order."
"Is that a threat?" Shelby wondered.
"Stay away from our daughter." Puck said again as he looked at Quinn. "Come on, Q. Let's get out of here."
