Assumption (Quinn/F/Quicketh)

"Hi, Quinny." Judy smiled, greeting Quinn with a hug after greeting Beth. "It's good to see you."

"You, too." Quinn replied. "Beth was really excited to see you, right, B? Tell Gramma."

"Yeah!" Beth exclaimed. "Can we play games, Gramma?"

"Sure, sweetie." Judy nodded. "Come inside and let's settle in."

Quinn checked her phone, hoping to hear anything from Puck, but not surprised to see she had no messages from him.

"Daddy had to go back to work." Beth informed Judy.

"I heard." Judy frowned. "I wish he was here, too."

"I thought you didn't like Daddy." Beth stated.

"Who said that?" Judy asked.

"Daddy." Beth answered, flashing a dopey Puckerman grin.

Judy shook her head slowly.

"I miss him." Beth told Judy. "But Mommy said he's gonna be back before I know it."

"That's right." Judy agreed, glancing at Quinn. "And your dad is doing a very important job."

"Yes he is." Beth nodded proudly.

"Beth's asleep." Quinn noted as she returned to Judy. "I'll probably turn in soon, too."

"Anything you wanna talk about?" Judy questioned Quinn.

Quinn furrowed her eyebrows.

"Any news?" Judy prompted Quinn, eyeing her loose sweatshirt.

"What?" Quinn wondered.

"Quinny." Judy said. "Are you pregnant?"

"No." Quinn answered.

Judy nodded slowly.

"If I was, I'd tell you when I'm ready." Quinn added.

"Okay." Judy replied.

Quinn bit her lip. "I was."

"What?" Judy asked.

"Yeah, I lost it." Quinn informed Judy. "It was so early, and Noah would've missed it all anyway, so it wasn't the best timing, but... yeah, I was pregnant."

"Sweetheart, I'm so sorry." Judy apologized. "Are you okay? Why did that happen? What did the doctor say?"

"They don't really know why." Quinn answered. "But they said we should be okay in the future."

Judy frowned.

"I'm okay." Quinn said. "Things are hard enough with Beth without Noah. I can't imagine going through a pregnancy and having a newborn without him."

"Did he know?" Judy wondered.

"Yeah, he was still here when I lost it." Quinn explained. "I don't wanna keep talking about this. I'm tired and I wanna go to bed."

"Get some sleep, honey." Judy nodded in agreement.

Quinn nodded back before excusing herself and heading upstairs. She ran into Beth in the hall. "Hey, what are you doing up, little bee?"

"I can't sleep." Beth told Quinn. "Can I stay with you?"

"Okay." Quinn smiled slightly as she offered her hand. "Come on, B."
