"Hello?" Puck answered his phone.

"Puck, it's Shelby." Shelby replied. "I need you to come over. It's an emergency."

"An emergency?" Puck repeated. "Is Beth okay?"

"Please just come over."

Puck furrowed his eyebrows as Shelby hung up the phone. He walked out of his house, getting in his car and driving off.

Puck parked and went inside, heading up to Shelby's apartment. He knocked on the door, and it opened.

"What's going on?" Puck asked Shelby as he stepped into the apartment. "Where's Beth?"

"That's why I called you over." Shelby answered. "I don't know."

"You don't know?" Puck repeated.

"After I called you, I tried calling Quinn, but I couldn't reach her." Shelby explained as tears filled her eyes.

"You think Quinn took her?" Puck asked.

"I'd rather her than someone else." Shelby stated.

Puck furrowed his eyebrows.

"Look, I know you're still on probation after juvie, and I don't wanna put you in a bad position, but if you know something-"

"Know something?" Puck interrupted.

"Can you try to call her?" Shelby requested. "Please?"

"Yeah." Puck nodded as he pulled out his phone. He took a deep breath as he dialed Quinn's number, looking at Shelby as it rang. "Did you call the police?"

Puck didn't hear Shelby's answer because he heard Quinn pick up the phone.

"Q? You there?" Puck asked.

"I'm here." Quinn responded. "A little busy."

"Do you have Beth?" Puck wondered.

Quinn didn't answer.

"I wanna see her." Puck improvised. "Shelby's being a total bitch and hasn't let me see her in weeks."

Quinn still didn't answer.

"Q? You still there?" Puck questioned Quinn. "Can I come see her?"

"I have to go." Quinn blurted before hanging up.

"Quinn, wait." Puck said, but it was too late. He took a deep breath as he looked at Shelby. She has her and I know where they're going."

"Quinn barely said anything. How do you know all of that?" Shelby asked.

"Because we lived together." Puck reminded Shelby. "And whenever she was upset or didn't feel safe or comfortable, she went somewhere."

"Where?" Shelby wondered.

"My car's outside. Let's go."

-

"Hey." Puck said, walking up to Quinn.

"Noah." Quinn furrowed her eyebrows.

"Hey." Puck repeated before scooping Beth up. "Hey, princess. Daddy's here."

"Dada!"

Quinn smiled slightly as she looked at Puck with Beth.

"Remember when you were pregnant and we used to drive around together?" Puck asked Quinn.

"Yeah." Quinn answered. "Usually until you got me food or until I fell asleep."

"Yeah." Puck smiled.

"You were really good to me." Quinn added. "And I never really thanked you."

"Well, you were a little busy in that delivery room." Puck joked.

Quinn laughed lightly.

"We should take Beth back to my car." Puck suggested. "We could drive around, you know, as a family."

"Okay." Quinn said.

Puck put Beth back in Quinn's arms, helping her up. He took a deep breath as he watched Quinn and Beth.

The trio headed back to Puck's car. When they reached it, Shelby started screaming at Quinn.

"Give me my daughter! You crazy, messed up little-"

"Shelby." Puck cut her off.

"She kidnapped my daughter." Shelby replied.

"My daughter." Quinn corrected Shelby, glancing at Puck.

"No." Shelby hissed as she ripped Beth out of Quinn's arms and comforted her. "When you sign away your rights to a child, you are no longer that child's parents. You're lucky I don't call the cops."

"Call them." Quinn dared Shelby. "I have nothing left to lose."

"Quinn, get in the car." Puck ordered. "I'll take you home."

"No thanks." Quinn shook her head.

"Why?" Puck wondered.

"Why?" Quinn repeated. "You think I wanna be around someone who is never on my side? Someone who comes to me reminiscing about the past, just to blindside me?"

"It's not like that, Q." Puck said softly. "I'm just trying to do what's right for Beth."

"Well, then I guess we have different versions of that."
