Test (Quinneth/Quick)

"Hey." Beth said as she entered the den. "Where is everybody?"

"Bubbe and Daddy took Lucy to gymnastics, Hudson to his game, and Grace to dance class." Quinn answered. "I was just gonna put on a movie, if you wanna join me."

"Actually, if you're not busy, I wanna talk to you about something." Beth began as she sat down.

"Sure." Quinn nodded, looking at the brunette. "What's up?"

"Paige and I were talking about our trip earlier." Beth explained. "And I realized that my period is late."

"How late is it?" Quinn wondered.

"About a week." Beth answered.

"Do you think you're pregnant?" Quinn asked.

"I don't know." Beth shrugged.

"Are you still on the pill?" Quinn questioned Beth.

Beth nodded. "And I've been using condoms."

"Then you should be fine." Quinn noted.

"Yeah." Beth muttered, biting her lip.

"It's gonna be okay." Quinn promised, pulling Beth into her arms and holding her.

"Mom, I can't be a teen mom." Beth said softly. "And you and Dad can't be grandparents before you're thirty-five."

"It's gonna be okay." Quinn repeated. "I'll go get you a test and we'll figure this out."

"Okay." Quinn said. "I asked your father to pick up dinner on his way home, so that'll buy us some more time to do this and process whatever the outcome is."

Beth nodded.

"Whenever you're ready." Quinn continued. "Unpack the boxes and pee on the sticks. Then you have to leave them for a few minutes."

"Is it common to get a false negative?" Beth asked.

"If it says negative, it's negative." Quinn clarified, handing Beth the shopping bag. "Whenever you're ready, B."

Beth took the shopping bag and entered the master bathroom, closing the door behind her.

"I'm right here if you need me." Quinn reminded Beth. "And positive or negative, I love you."

Beth didn't say anything.

Quinn waited on her bed, surprisingly calm. She wanted to check on Beth, but she knew to give her space.

"Mom." Beth said, exiting the bathroom when the timer went off. "I need you."

Quinn got up and walked over to Beth. "What does it say?"

"I can't look." Beth told Quinn. "Can you?"

"Are you sure?" Quinn asked.

Beth nodded.

"Okay." Quinn said, squeezing Beth's hand before walking to the counter. She looked at each test.

"Mom?" Beth wondered.

"They're negative, B." Quinn informed Beth.

"Really?" Beth questioned Quinn as she walked over to her.

"They're all negative." Quinn confirmed, putting her arm around Beth. "Look."

Beth looked at the tests before hugging Quinn.

Quinn held Beth for a moment until Beth was ready to part.

"Thanks, Mom." Beth said softly.

"Of course." Quinn nodded. "Are you okay?"
