So many times I wondered how he forgave me, but now I know.
Because the whole time I was hurting myself, not him.
That's why he said "you never did anything wrong".
It also clicked in my head. That I constructed a love story for years. He was only a witness to my own suffering.
Therefore he had no real reason to let me go.
He never did in fact.
That's why he'd often say that he only wanted me to be happy. And before I didn't understand why but now I see what he saw.
He knew that me being so attached to him was actually hurting me. And he wanted me to get out of it and find something that would actually work.
That's why he didn't stop me, when I decided to leave. He didn't say what he felt because he knew it would be useless to convince me. So he just said see you later.
Which later on happened.
