Author's POV
"Ayansh!"
Ishani's frustrated voice rang through the house as she hurried down the stairs. She huffed in frustration as she entered the living room and did not find him there. Aradhana frowned in concern as she watched Ishani heave a deep sigh. "What's wrong beta?", Aradhana asked. "Maa, do you know where Ayansh is? Do you, Yuvika?", she asked, turning to Yuvika who was sitting on the couch scrolling through her phone. She shakes her head. "No. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him either", Aradhana says. Her eyes dart to the door as Laksh enters.
"Good morning", he smiles as he greets everyone. "Laksh, have you seen Ayansh? Do you know where he is?", Ishani questions, her eyes following Laksh as he walks to the kitchen and grabs a glass of water. "Yeah", he gulps down the water. "Him and Vivaan bhai are out together", he answers, placing the empty glass in the sink. "Him and Vivaan?", Aradhana says. "Where are they?", Ishani speaks up impatiently. "At Vivaan bhai's new house. Something about seeing how far the workers have come with the interiors", Laksh answers.
"He told you that? Ayansh said that?", Ishani asks and he nods. She dials his number again and groans in frustration as he doesn't answer. "Why isn't he answering the damn call? He didn't even tell me they were going.", she mutters in irritation. "We were supposed to go out today", she sighs. Yuvika turns to her with raised brows. "Bhai forgot your date? Seriously?!", she exclaims in astonishment. "It wasn't a date. We were just-", Ishani sighs. "I had to buy a few things", Ishani mutters. "Ugh, I'll go by myself".
"Oh no. You don't need to", Aradhana speaks up. "Take Laksh with you", she says and he nods. "No maa, that's not necessary. I can go-", but Aradhana shakes her head. "You are not going out alone. Not after everything. Take Laksh with you. Laksh", she turns to him. "Go with her", she says and he nods.
Minutes later Ishani and Laksh were in his car, stuck in traffic just near their destination.
Laksh chuckles sensing Ishani's agitation. "It's just traffic bhabhi-maa. It will clear out soon", he says making her sigh. "I know", she says looking out the window. His brows furrow in concern as he looks at her. "How are you?", he asks suddenly. "I'm fine", she answers still looking out. He hesitates for a moment but speaks up. "I meant-", he stops as she turns to face him. "I know what you meant. Trust me, I am fine. I really am", she assures him but he looks at her unconvinced. "Laksh-"
"It's ok", he speaks up quickly. "You don't have to tell me anything. I understand. Everything that has happened, it must've.....caused you pain. I understand. Don't feel obligated to tell me. I just want you to know that, I'm there. Thats all", he says slowly. She smiles gently. "I know, Laksh. I know that. I know I have you all. And trust me, I am fine. The incident...", she pauses then takes a heavy breath. "The rape", she could see his grip on the steering wheel tighten.
