Ishani's POV
Next Day
My cheeks ached from smiling for an unbearably long time.
Smiling is good.
Smiling is easy.
Smiling is happy.
Then why don't I feel like it?
My lips tipped up wider and I forced myself to brighten up when maa and papa enter my room.

Anything.
I rummage my heart for some emotion, only to find nothing. Only to find emptiness.
Deep, vast and unending emptiness.
"You knew, didn't you?", papa asked, albeit gently. Maa shot him a warning look.
"Yes" I muttered, sitting up as maa propped up the pillow at my back. "Since when?", papa asked making maa immediately slapped his arm. "Enough", she snapped at him. "Enough with the questions. Look at her Trilok!", she chided and he sighed heavily rubbing a hand over his troubled face. "I know. I am sorry-"
