They had left Imladris early in the morning, the ten members of the Fellowship, following after Gandalf and Frodo. And it had proved to be a long first day, (Y/n) spending most of her time, between her uncle and Gimli, or with Merry and Pippin; Sam even saying, at one point, that he was sure that Bill wouldn't mind her riding him for a while, if she was tired; to which she had just smiled and thanked him. Assuring the larger hobbit that she was grateful for the offer, but that she was quite alright. That given the fact that she was half dwarf and half elf, meant that she was really quite hardy and the walk, so far at least, was not causing her any issues. The princess placing a hand on his shoulder; knowing full well that he had made the offer because he was a gentleman and he was quite wonderfully sweet, just like the other hobbit. That, and she had refused, as she could only imagine what Boromir would say if she were to suddenly take advantage of the poor pony that was already carrying its weight in pots, pans and supplies. The princess sure that the Gondorian would mutter something about her being weak and complain again about having a female on the quest.

Since his rudeness about her family at the celebration; since his disapproval of her offering her help to Frodo, she had not said a word to the son of the Steward of Gondor. In fact, she had gone out of her way to deliberately avoid him; much preferring to spend her time with the others, than with him. And she had been doing her best to ignore all the looks that he had been giving her, since they had all left Lord Elrond's realm. Eventually she knew that she would have to speak to him, that it was better that they communicate for the sake of the quest; but her stubbornness was getting the better of her, and she had every intention of making him sweat just a little longer. To have him apologise to her, before she would even look at him, never mind talk to him.

"We will rest here..........." Gandalf finally called out, as the sun had begun to make its way back towards the horizon. The sky changing from a beautiful blue, to be tinged with hues of orange, pink and purple. (Y/n) making her way to help Sam grab the pots that he would need to make them all a hardy dinner; the pair of them laughing as their stomach's grumbled at the same time.

                                                 >>-----------------------------------<<

(Y/n) sat with the hobbits, telling them stories about the Mountain, Mirkwood and Dale. They hanging on her every word, as she spoke of meeting Bard the Bowman; the man that would become the Master of Dale after he had shot the black arrow at Smaug and brought about the end of the last fire drake, when she was younger; and the true magnificence of her mountain home. She not noticing that someone was watching her, as she laughed when she had told the wide-eyed little ones, of seeing the giant spiders that haunted her grandfather's kingdom.

"I do not blame you for looking at her............?" Boromir looking to Aragorn at the sound of his voice. The captain not having realised that he was staring yet again at the princess, until the Ranger had commented.

While still in Rivendell, he had done his best to try and speak to the daughter of Oakenshield; to apologise for offending her. Yet it had been obvious that she had been doing her best to avoid him; leaving rooms when he would enter. Quickly starting conversations with others, when he would try to get close. Though given that when he had spoken to her, all he had achieved was making her angry, perhaps it was better that he didn't speak to her. It a new feeling for the captain, to be so tongue-tied and awkward around a female. Many women in Gondor seeing him as quite the most eligible of men; they easily charmed by him. Yet he had to suppose that maybe that charisma only worked on human woman, and not those that were half elf and dwarf.

"It is no wonder that they call her the Jewel of the Mountain. Her beauty as rare as her lineage. I have never met her parents, myself; but Legolas as told me much of the King and Queen under the Mountain, and how his niece is so very much like both her mother and father. That she is the perfect amalgamation of the two of them, of dwarf and elf. Though that does mean that she has inherited her father's pride, as well as the stubbornness and hard-headedness of both races. Yet Gimli informs me that despite that, she has the best of hearts; and is really quite forgiving............"

"What are you trying to tell me............?" Boromir finally interrupted. Looking to see that the elf's attention was on the darkness that surrounded them, and that the dwarf was already snoring after their evening meal, before turning his attention back to the Ranger.

"I am trying to say that you should just give her some time. That she will speak to you eventually. And when she does........perhaps don't seem to make fun of her family or say that she should not have joined us..........." Aragorn explained, before tapping out the weed from his pipe.

"Though, for now, may I suggest that you should get some sleep before your watch......." The Ranger giving the captain a slight smile, then turning over on his bedroll. Boromir looking through the fire to see that (Y/n) and the hobbits had already done the same. A heavy sigh leaving his lips, before he leant up against the rock behind him, and closed his eyes.
