"You look beautiful, muinthel............" Arwen said softly, as she helped (Y/n) finish her hair for the evening's celebration. The Evenstar smiling at the younger elleth through the mirror, when she placed the beautifully intricate silver circlet that Lord Elrond had gifted her for her birthday, at her brow, before kissing her atop the head.

From the moment that Aragorn had brought (Y/n) to Imladris and placed the little elleth into the arms of the peredhel, Arwen had seen her and treated her, as the little sister she had never had. She and the twins watching as (Y/n) had grown from this tiny bundle to be quiet the most exquisite and skilled of elleths. Her talents with both blade and bow greater than any other of her age that any had ever seen or heard of. And the fact that her ability to see things that others could not, that she had been blessed with the gift of foresight, always making the family believe that her true parents must have been no simple elves. Yet no matter the truth of her lineage, to all in Imladris, she would always be of the House of Elrond, and the daughter of Estel.

"Is ada angry at me.............?" (Y/n) suddenly asked, as she turned to look at Arwen.

"How could your father ever be angry at you, dear heart........?" Arwen countered, as she took a seat next to (Y/n) and reached for her hands. The granddaughter of the Lady of Light, never able to remember a time when Aragorn had been even the slightest annoyed at his sweet child.

"It is just that......well, when ada introduced me to Prince Legolas, he didn't seem to like the way that we were speaking to one another. I didn't mean to be rude by asking the prince if I could test my skills against him. It is just that ada has told me so much about his friend's abilities over the years, that I suppose I liked the notion of being able to prove myself against someone like him; and as he didn't seem to be offended...........ada was just very quiet as we left the prince. If it weren't for the hobbits, it felt as though he would have said nothing........." (Y/n) explained, looking to Arwen as she chuckled slightly, before the older elleth placed her hand on (Y/n)'s cheek.

"Your father and I spoke of this before we came to find you, earlier. Aragorn is just concerned for you, dear heart. He has returned and realised that you are no longer a child, and he worries, just like all parents do for their children. And fathers......well, they always worry more for their little girls. It is the first time that he has seen an ellon look at you as a grown elleth, and not a child. I believe that your father hoped you would remain an elfling for the rest of your life......" Arwen explained. A smile coming to her lips, as she saw a blush come to the top of (Y/n)'s ears, at the mention of the Mirkwood prince.

"You like him, don't you.......Legolas.......?"

"I........." (Y/n) blush getting even brighter.

"He is very handsome, I cannot deny. His hair is like the rays of the sun as it kisses the tops of the trees, when I rise from my bed; so pale, so radiant. And his eyes......his eyes remind me of the deepest, bluest pool in Imladris; and they sparkle as the light catches them. His smile........it made me think of things that I have never thought of before; the touch of his hand made me feel things........Oh Arwen, am I wrong to think such things of him........? He is ada's friend, so much older than I, and I only spoke with him but for a moment........" Arwen bringing up (Y/n) hand so that she could place a small kiss to it, as she saw the look in her sister's eyes. It obvious that the Valar had not only brought together (Y/n) and Aragorn for some reason; but also, that they had judged this time to be right to bring her and Legolas together. For them both to find their one.

"You are right about Legolas; he is quite the most beautiful of ellons, and I do not for a moment think that it is wrong to see him in such a way. And as for how he makes you feel.....well, sometimes the Valar have plans for us, and we just have to trust them............" (Y/n) slowly nodding at Arwen's answer.

"Now......." The older elleth getting to her feet.

"Lets get you to your celebration....." She added, offering (Y/n) her arm. Both of them smiling at one another, as they made their way out of the room.

                                                       >>--------------------------------<<

Legolas looked at himself in the mirror. It had been nice to be able to change from his travelling clothes and remove the dust from the roads from his skin so that he could redress for the evening. The Mirkwood prince now clothed in the finest pale grey robes that were embellished with carefully embroidered vines and leaves; a simple silver circlet, gracing his brow. Yet all this time, his thoughts had not been on being able to talk more with his old friend, with what the council of Elrond would bring about; but with a certain stunning elleth that he had met. The prince finding it hard to believe that she had had such an effect on him in such a small amount of time; that he was thinking things that he should never have been able to think about, after Tauriel had broken his heart so many years before. Years before (Y/n) had even been born. Yet here he was, hoping that she would like the way that he looked, that he would be able to talk to her that evening; that they would be able to dance. That he would once again be able to take in the soft, subtle smell of her, that had surrounded him in the courtyard as he took her hand and kissed it. The whole thing suggesting to him that he had, in fact, not truly been in love with Tauriel, as he had believed; and that the daughter of his dearest friend was actually his one. Legolas shaking his head at the notion; yet there was no denying the way that something inside him had stirred when he had looked on her. The prince letting out a sigh, as he straightened himself, not sure what this new twist would mean for his future, for what was to come; yet he did know that he had to see (Y/n) again. Legolas turning from his reflection, before making his way from the room.
