The day came.
Sentinekka is standing opposite to her friends, outside the Temple of the Valley of Triumph. They're all looking at her in a weepy way.
There are the people she met, and her cousin too. Isan reached her in the same instant she discovered that Sentinekka was going to the Eye of Eden.
«Are you sure you want to do this, Sentinekka?» Symphony asks her, insecure. «The Eden is... Big and... You are small» she says. She knows that Sentinekka is scared, and she would love to trap her in the Valley to avoid risks. Sentinekka, sadly, is kinda rebel when something isn't really fair... And she must save Judylia.
Well, the King and Ojtaro too anyways.
«I'm sure, Symphony. It's the right thing to do, and I can't ignore what's inside that gate» Sentinekka answers, hugging her best friend for the last time before her new journey. «But I'll be back, I promise».
«Promises must be kept, Sen'» Ojtaro walks and slowly reaches them. He lays a hand on Sentinekka's right shoulder and adds:«Please, don't put yourself in danger... And, if something is wrong, don't forget to write to us».
He hugs her too, as everyone did before him and Symphony. Timur is staring at her as he's begging her to bring his loyal friend back, and so Yashi is doing. Mona and Arwen too. Arwen is a Judy's great friend who loves practicing with bow and arrows. Her long hair move with the soft wind.
Some other Child is with Auntie Mona. They are probably some friend or kid she's taking care of, and she took them with her because she couldn't skip the meeting. She just smiles with sadness in her eyes. Who knows how many Children she saw while they were going away like that.
Orlando is sensitive to goodbyes. Little tears fall down his mask of wood.
Sentinekka sighs and she opens her arms. She's telling him to come, and he obeys.
«Why do you... Have t... To go?» he asks, sobbing. He's crying in his old friend's arms like he always did when he felt bad.
Sentinekka strokes his back gently. «Orlando, I must do what I'm supposed to do. When I'll come back, I promise that... That we'll explore that area of the Ocean of the Wastelands you always wanted to see!».
Orlando makes a small smile while his tears keep flowing on his face. «We will?».
«We will, my friend! And we'll find so many creatures of the sea that you always dreamt of!».
He chuckles. «I cannot... Wait!» he exclaims, holding his friend even tighter.
«Oh, me too!».
He finally lets go of her. He's feeling better, but he knows that he'll miss her a lot. They all will, oh they will for real.
Sentinekka waves to them for the last time, then she turns around and starts to walk to the end of the surface.
She waits for a minute. «I love you all so much!» she shouts, looking at everone of them. «I'll make sure you receive my future letters!».
Only then, she flies away.
Isan looks at her for a while, then raises her right hand to wave: she closes the thumb and little finger of her hand, leaving the other three fingers raised. In the ancient traditions of the Kingdom, that gesture was used to say goodbye to someone who would never return.
