«Where were you yesterday?» Sentinekka asks Symphony while they, Ojtaro and Youssef walk among the islands of the Daylight Prairie to ring all the bells.
Symphony answers her:«You were sleeping... How do you know that Youssef and I took a walk?!».
«Ojtaro had a nightmare and I helped him» Sentinekka explains calmly. She adds, curious:«So you two have been walking? How long?».
«Some hours».
«Did you have fun?».
«We saw some fireworks at a place nearby, the Bird Nest; it was very nice. You would have liked it, if only you had come... But you were sleeping, I didn't want to wake you up...».
«It doesn't matter, I would still have fallen asleep during the show!».
Symphony giggles, amused. She whispers:«I had no idea that a guy like Ojtaro could deal with nightmares!».
Sentinekka glares at her and nods her head. «Everyone can be afraid of something! It's not nice what you say, Symphony!» she says, disapproving the words of her best friend, who immediately apologizes.
The two talk all the time.
Meanwhile, the guys in front are totally silent, until Youssef tells Ojtaro:
-----
«Despite everything, I like you».
«What?» Ojtaro asks him, confused. He just doesn't understand the logic of that guy.
«Surprised, huh?».
«Of course!».
Youssef reflects aloud:«Maybe because you are nice to everyone? Or to Sentinekka, at least».
«I'm just trying to do my duty» Ojtaro claims with a look that freezes Youssef for a moment. «It is the task of a student of the Passage, after all».
Youssef assumes a surprised and disappointed expression.
«So...» he starts. «You don't really like Sentinekka?».
Silence comes for a moment that seems to be an eternity, while Ojtaro is looking straight at his companion with confused eyes.
Then, he realizes.
«What The Heck Did You Understand?!» he exclaims with a different and angrier voice.
-----
Sentinekka hears all of their talk, and after Ojtaro's words about "the duty of a student", her mind stops while her body is still in motion.
«I knew it» whispers Symphony, cruelly. «You know... It's Ojtaro after all. The colder than ice itself boy».
Sentinekka smiles. «It's fine» she replies to her friend confidently. Symphony is surprised. She didn't expect this reaction.
And yet, when the fourteen-year-old yells at Youssef angrily telling him that "she is what he cares about the most despite the three days of knowing", she feels more alive and joyful.
Ojtaro stops immediately after realizing what he said and, embarrassed, takes Sentinekka's hand with an offended air. He then starts walking again and carries the girl behind him, who smiles softened.
-----
Spirits, Winged Lights, candles, endless chats... Up to the temple of the Elder of the Daylight Prairie. It's blue and gold, huge, welcoming.
Ojtaro never let Sentinekka go again. He holds her close as if she was his greatest treasure and looks at her as if to watch over her.
That big temple is now in front of them. And, step by step, they get inside. Floating blue lights await them impatiently. They fly among a pile of stone or clay pots. They are all spread out all over the temple.
«It's always a mess here» Ojtaro comments, not surprised by the sea of clay in front of him.
«Always. It's the Prairie's Temple, after all» Youssef approves and makes Symphony and Sentinekka chuckle.
