Oj' can feel Sentinekka's joy when they fly on the Light Manta's smooth surface. The creature is warm as the sun that glows bright in the sky and makes adorable sounds. It looks happy to have some company.
Sentinekka doesn't just ride it for two or three seconds like the other Children of Light would do, she rides the Manta with knowledge got from who knows where, and always pets it with affection.
«I love Mantas! What about you, Oj'?».
«They are nice, not gonna lie... But I don't always have the time to come and search for them» he answers while looking at the golden and white decorations on the animal. They are symmetrical and simple, but traditional and ancient.
«Maybe you should come here more often, don't you think?» Sen' asks him, while the Manta flies through the sky. They are so close to the Temple of the Prairie's Elder that they can even feel the warmth of its inside.
He doesn't answer. He just keeps his hand on his other one, waiting for Sentinekka to say something like:«We are going back to the Village now» or:«Do you want to go somewhere else?», and staring at the land under them.
The Manta is so far from the islands. Is it going to the Temple or...?
«Let's go away» he says, worried. «Really, it's getting dangerous here».
«What are you talking about?» Sentinekka asks him, curious. She probably doesn't understand what's going on, but he does. Magic, as always, is doing something.
«Just get off of this Manta, okay?».
«Explain first, then we'll go».
Ojtaro snorts. That's bothering!
The Manta is losing control and nobody knows what it's actually planning to do. Is it flying or just moving in the sky without any sense of orientation?! They risk to fall every second they spend on that creature. Yeah, they both can fly, but the fear is not controllable.
«The Magic is doing something like, I don't know, maybe trying to kill you?! Idiot, get off here!» he exclaims, agitated. His anger and panic are getting stronger, and almost reach the limit when she ask:«But why?!».
He doesn't know. Why is the Magic, or the Elders, or even the Megabird, trying to hurt them?! He is a descendant of the Magic itself! This doesn't make any sense!
«Jump, now!». And he flies away. So she does. Luckily, she seems to have a working brain.
His feet touch the grass of the island of the Temple. Ojtaro can see the Manta becoming... Dust? What the...?
Wait: Sen'! Where is she?!
Ojtaro doesn't see her anywhere. Oh Megabird... He looks up; Sentinekka is flying to him with no fear in her eyes.
He holds out his arms and spreads them to try to catch her, but ends up losing his balance and falling to the ground. Thank goodness, his friend lands safely on her feet.
«Ojtaro, are you okay?!» she asks him, worried. She helps him to get up, while looking at the disappeared Manta.
«I am, but what about you?!» Ojtaro takes her hand and holds it thightly. «I wish I knew what just happened... I'm so sorry, Sen'».
«D...Don't worry, it's fine; I'm fine... ».
Oh, he'll have to talk with the Elders. And he'll do that really soon. They could have died. The Manta was going to the Eden's ruins, somehow.
-----
Sentinekka is still wondering what happened before in the Prairie. That was strange... The Mantas don't casually change way of flight like that.
The Elders want something from her?
The sun is slowly setting in the Valley of Triumph. The snow stopped to fall, and the most of the people of the Village of Dreams is already at the Theater to see the show of the Performance Guide and his team.
