Eden (2) - Chapter 11

Ojtaro turns towards the Elder and waits for more explanations. Everything is so clear, but it is still so confusing...

Teth smiles at him. «Do you know how many days your family searched for you?» she asks with a curious stare. She looks like a real Child of Light. Was she like this before the fall of the Kingdom? Was she so nice, sweet and kind? Was she so supportive? For all of his life he believed that no Elder was nice, but they all were.

«H... How many?» he says with a surprised tone. Not many minutes went away, and days already passed in his world. Teth is capable of deciding the time inside of the void. This time, she wanted it to go faster than Ojtaro when he runs away. When he used to run away from his reality that is finally changing...

«Six, Ojtaro» she answers with a kind of sad look. «For six days your family, your loyal and sweet family, has searched for you in every realm. They are worried, they think that you gave up and went away. Ojtaro, you are more loved than you think. Even the Light and the Darkness love you, they just don't show it, and that's why everyone always thought that they didn't want you. Your real parents didn't love you, but we Elders love you, we love every descendant of Darkness and Light, but we love you more. Do you know why?».

Ojtaro stays silent for a bit, trying to contain his unbelief and sudden joy. He's not the only "deity"...? He isn't alone, there are people outside that can understand him. He then asks:«Why?».

«Because your soul is not made of Pure Light like your blood and like the descendants of the brightness, or of Light mixed with Darkness like a normal Child at the start of a journey, or of Darkness only like a creature of the shadows. Your soul is made of Light, Darkness and Love together, like a Child after discovering the life beyond their birth. The Light will lead you in your deserved fate, and only the Love keeper can decide what's best for you» Teth tells him while pointing at the shining dust. «Aurora has plans for you, don't think that she forgot about you and all the times you've tried to ask her to turn you into a real Child of Light».

Ojtaro finally chuckles after the wave of days full of sadness that he lived. Every day before Christmas, Aurora always listened to every Child's wish and he was always there, asking for the same thing: freedom. He received it with the help of a curious and amazing girl from the "Starting Point". She made the Elders change idea, somehow. Her disappearance was the key to the final door, and she gave her life for him to live the experience of the real freedom. This makes him feel in pain, but when he'll get out of the emptiness he'll make sure to give Sentinekka the honors she deserved. She and her loving heart won't be forgotten like the boats in the Isle of Dawn.

«But wait, I have something more» Teth stops him from reaching the Light with a rigid gesture. Her moment of sweetness didn't last much, but her Elder behavior revealed a lot. She makes a crown of gold and blue flowers appear on his head. That crown he always saw as the prettiest thing ever. It's kinda different from how it was before: it's brighter, and it is decorated with white powder around every flower's petal.

He sobs and puts his hands on his chest. He believed he lost that crown in the Isle. Under his grey mask, a little smile makes a difference between a despaired cry, that was becoming his new and eternal emotion, and tears of joy.
