«I will attain the Light!».
«You surely will, man» he comments. Ojtaro is now used to these small sentences as flashbacks. «Not gonna lie, you'll get worse». Well, he's so used to them that he actually jokes on them. Not for cruelty, just for fun. Uhm... Just for fun... Right...?
He's finally alone and Youssef, that lovely idiot that sometimes sounds nice and sometimes sounds stupid - sometimes is both of them, no one will change Ojtaro's mind about it - is not here with him because of his fear of the Darkness.
So, here he is: he's standing in front of Ifarara's area: the Trial of Fire.
«Did someone ever told you that I love challenges, Prophet? You should know it». Ojtaro smirks when he says these words. «I'm ready».
And he walks calmly towards a big bubble of pure Darkness. It's scary but cool, and it looks like it is calling him. He knows that, here, the Fire is not the element he must be scared of: it's the Darkness. Too much time into the void can kill him. Only the Prince managed to survive in this Trial without dying once.
Why is it so simple for normal Children? Oh, well: because they don't have to rule a Kingdom, huh?! They just... They can't die in the Trials, but Ojtaro can. The Elders can die with strong magic, magic that doesn't kill Children of Light. This makes Ojtaro feel overrated. A lot, and it is not good, because he must avoid distractions. Sadly, his mind is born to reflect and think...
Took it from Teth, also known as the most strategic and smart Elder of the whole group. Daleth is the wisest one, and about Ayin... The most sleepy one? Maybe, since he's capable of sleeping for centuries with no problems. Sah and Mekh are the most competitive ones, Tsadi is the strongest in war, Lamed is the most silent and mysterious. The King was the most traumatized and, wait. Ojtaro must stop thinking about this, he must concentrate about the Trials.
He breathes in and out, knowing that it always helps. Of course it helps, this relaxation technique was created by the only demigoddess with a brain, the one that everyone calls Lady Aurorita or Miss Borealis. Aurora, who he can even consider as an aunt or something.
He stops when he's right one step away from the bubble of Darkness.
It is huge. But he's not scared: he's amazed. Magic is so... Magical. And here is another idiotic thing he thought. Yay!
He begins to walk again, and enters into the bubble. It is all black inside. It looks like an Elder's heart. Empty.
Ojtaro must walk in a precise direction to avoid falling. He knows how to, his feet know everything they must do.
The only thing that shines in the dark is Sentinekka's flowers crown, the object that he's loving with all of his life in these days. That accessory will bring him so much luck and hope.
That emptiness makes it hard for his brain to not think about something. Ojtaro always thinks during the night because the Darkness always makes him think. That part of his behavior is only of is own, an ability that was born during his childhood. He didn't take it from anyone, that's why he loves it so much and doesn't want to change it.
He knows he shouldn't, but he can't stop thinking about Sentinekka. She just began her journey to the Golden Wastelands. How is she doing? When will she come back? He must use the time of her journey to find a way to tell her what he feels inside.
