Nighttime had fallen on Pabu. The creatures were more quiet than usual. The girl walking along the beach paused to look up at her home one more time. She adjusted her satchel and continued on her trek. She climbed into the cavern that she frequented many times before.
She jumped off the rocks and saw her ship in the distance. She walked up to the light and switched it on. The other lights turning on as well. Batcher sat up and she saw someone waiting for her. She smiled and stood up.
The door opened to her ship and Gonky appeared only to be shoved to the side by two little girls of the ages eight and five. They bounded down the steps. Another woman stood in the doorway.
"You're really leaving?!" The older one said. She had brown hair of her father and blue eyes and freckles that matched her mother.
"I have to Astra." Omega patted her head. "I'm needed out there."
"Don't kill all the bad guys without me!" Astra smiled.
"I wouldn't dream of it." Omega said.
"Yea kick some Empire ass!" The younger girl, who had blonde hair from her mother and brown eyes with no freckles that came from her father, jumped up and down in front of her.
"Celeste!" Aurora scolded. "Where did you hear words like that?!"
Celeste giggled. "Uncle Crosshair."
"Oh, did you now?" She folded her arms. "I'm going to have a chat with Uncle Crosshair in the morning."
Omega looked at Aurora. She was smiling and her hair was split dyed. One side being her natural blonde and the other side was a dark red that resembled the bandana that Hunter used to wear. The bandana that Omega graciously stole.
"Aurora." Omega smiled.
Aurora held her arms out and Omega eagerly hugged her. "Look at you, so grown up."
"It had to happen eventually." Omega whispered. "How is he?"
"You should talk to him." She chuckled and kissed Omega on the forehead. "But know that we are so proud of you and the woman you have become. You're gonna do great."
"Thank you." Omega smiled. "Mother Aurora." Aurora smiled and Omega walked over to Hunter. Aurora wrapped her arms around the two girls and they leaned into her.
"Thought you could sneak off?" Hunter asked. "Time hasn't dulled all my senses."
"This shouldn't be a surprise." Omega sat down next to him. "The Rebellion needs pilots now more than ever." Hunter sighed and she looked at him. "I made my choice, Hunter. I want to do more."
"And we want to keep you safe." He stated and looked at her. Behind them Aurora shook her head.
Such a stubborn man. She thought.
"You have." Omega chuckled. "But I'm not a kid anymore. You don't have to worry about me."
"You're our kid, Omega." Hunter said. "You always will be."
Omega looked at her hands. "Hunter, you've all fought enough." She scooted closer to him. "This? It's my fight. I'm ready." She placed a hand on his shoulder before standing up.
Hunter sighed again. "Yea, I know you are." He paused. "But I'm not." He stood up.
"You have Astra and Celeste to keep you running around. You won't even notice I'm gone." Omega said, but she hugged him anyway. "And keep an eye on Wrecker and Crosshair while I'm gone. Batcher too."
"Off you go." Hunter nodded.
Omega walked up to Aurora one more time. "Watch out for them... for me." Aurora nodded and walked towards Hunter. The two little girls were saying goodbye to Omega one more time. Hunter wrapped an arm around her.
Before Omega boarded Hunter stopped her. "Omega. If you ever need us, we'll be there." She nodded and climbed on board.
"You know, I thought you'd cry." She said as she leaned into him.
"Eh, I knew this was coming." Hunter stated.
"Yea, but you've become a big softie since the girls were born." Aurora chuckled.
Hunter looked at her. "Is that so?" She nodded and leaned into him, giving Hunter a kiss.
"Ew!"
"Gross!"
They heard the girls gagged and Aurora pulled away. Omega had climbed on board and they were pretending to throw up. "Oh you think that's gross?" Aurora teased and grabbed Hunter's face before giving him a big smooch. "I just love daddy so, so very much!" She dramatically told them.
"Mommy that's so gross!" Celeste stuck her finger in her mouth.
"Yea get a room!" Astra pinched her nose.
"You girls are silly and it's way past your bedtime." Aurora said as she leaned back into Hunter.
"Come on, can we please watch Omega leave?" Astra begged. "Please daddy?"
"Yea, please daddy?" Celeste also begged.
Hunter looked at Aurora who shrugged. "Don't look at me, they asked you."
Hunter chuckled. "I suppose but it's straight to bed, understood soldiers?"
"Yes sir!" Celeste saluted her father and Astra giggled.
They all turned towards the mouth of the cave. They heard Omega fire up her ship. Aurora rubbed his chest as he kissed the top of her head. He looked at Omega one more time who saluted him. In return Hunter did the same.
They watched Omega fly off with the girls waving as the ship flew by. Batcher was whining and Hunter patted her. "It's alright girl."
Celeste bounced off and Batcher followed her. Astra on the other hand took a couple steps forward and was staring at the stars. Aurora had her eyes closed as she continued to rub Hunter's chest.
"I'll miss her." She whispered. Hunter nodded in agreement.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look what I can do!" Celeste called from behind them.
Aurora sighed. "Duty calls." She stepped away from him and walked towards her youngest daughter. Hunter walked up to their oldest and patted her shoulder.
"Don't worry daddy." Astra said. "Omega doesn't die."
"I sure hope she won't." Hunter said.
"No, I mean she does live." Astra looked at him. "I've seen it in my dreams. She does well and even reunites with her green Twi'lek friend and her angry droid."
"What?" Hunter tilted his head and scooped his daughter into her arms.
"I've also seen this in my dreams too, daddy." Astra said as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "We should check on Celey now. Mommy's gonna start panicking."
Right on cue. "Celeste!" Aurora gasped. "Put Batcher down right now! How are you doing this?!" Celeste was heard giggling and Hunter turned. He saw Batcher floating in the air with Celeste holding her hands up, she slowly brought Batcher down. Hunter started to put the pieces together.
Hunter walked up to Aurora and put Astra down. She ran over to Celeste and Batcher. "Uh, Aurora, I think you might've birthed-"
"Don't tell me what you're gonna tell me." She poked his chest. "I did not birth any Jedi that is all on you."
Hunter shook his head and laughed. "I did not birth any children. I think we made some force sensitive kids."
Aurora rubbed her head. "Why do I feel like we just became severely outnumbered?" He looked at her and smiled. Hunter leaned in and kissed his wife. Aurora, meanwhile, wrapped her arms around his neck and just savored the moment with her husband. Their two children running around and playing with their hound, Batcher.
