Rimuru brought the ogres back to the village. In the evening there was final preparation, and the festival itself started when the night approached.
The main event of the festival was Rimuru, as usual. Rimuru never joined his subordinates in any meals until now.
Now that he had a human form, he finally got his taste buds back. This was Rimuru's first official meal since the reincarnation, for him it was a special occasion, his subordinates also thought the same in a different meaning.
Gobichi had talents, and Diablo had a lot of experiences. They were preparing a meal for Rimuru specifically.
Not too long after, the meal was prepared. "Please enjoy, Rimuru-sama." Gobichi placed a tray of meat skewers in front of Rimuru.
They were made from meats of cattledeers, herbivores native to the Jura Forest, that the ogres helped hunting during the way back to the village. Rimuru took a small bite for a test. The meat he bit off melted on his tongue, then the flavors spread as if it erupted. "Delicious!" Rimuru exclaimed. For the first meal in such a long time, it wasn't disappointing.
Hearing what Rimuru said, the goblin crowd that started to form around him erupted in cheer. The laughs and music filled the air around, suiting the festival. As you see, even the monsters could understand the elegance found in music. There were only crude instruments here, but that was fine.
Further from the center of the festival. The red-haired ogres, the blue-haired ogres, the old ogres, Kaijin and Rigurd isolated themselves from the crowd. They sat under the tree, discussing.
The ogres shared their story, in the unassuming night, ten of thousands of orcs, armed with both weapons and armors, attacked their village.
"Orcs with weapons and armors?" Kaijin murmured. Orc wasn't a race that relied on equipment. In fact, it was strange for orcs to gain access to those in the first place. 'Something doesn't feel right.'
"There is a magic-born among their army. That majin is unmistakably high-ranked." The red-haired ogres said. At the same he was also fighting his own demon. There was a raging flame within his heart that was hard to ignore.
"Is there a possibility that a demon lord is involved?"
"Demon lord..."
The chance in itself was slim, but with how the situation turned out, it would be too reckless to cut off the possibility altogether.
If the "10 Great Demon Lord", those who held the majority of power in the world, was involved, it made logical sense that they would provide the orcs with weapons and armors.
But that theory came with an unfathomable weight. They were majins who stood tall as the pillar of absolute authority in this world. The ogres knew that they were powerless in front of those figures.
Rimuru, who was satisfied with the meal, just wanted to ask the ogres about the festival. But he ended up eavesdropping on a more interesting topic. Rimuru didn't know much about demon lords. From the time he came from there was only one, and that was the Primordial of Red.
"I don't know if it was demon lord or not. But our tribe went from 300 to 6 in a single night. It was a tragedy."
"And what is your plan after this?" Rimuru joined in and asked.
"Rimuru-sama? How was the food?" The red-haired ogre was surprised to see Rimuru. He didn't even notice Rimuru until he spoke up. Even without the Anti-magic Mask, Rimuru's presence was still perfectly sealed.
"It's pretty good. I am just taking a break between a meal." Rimuru jumped off of Ranga's back. "But enough about me. Your sister is quite amazing, isn't she? She knows a lot about herbs and magic, it seems."
