For months, Rimuru was trying to find an exit. The cave was complex with many corners, twists, and dead ends.
Which was probably why this cave had been chosen to be Veldora's sealing ground to begin with.
Rimuru still ate the herbs and ores along his way, but he had lost interest in eating monsters. It wasn't like he could acquire a new skill from eating the same species of monsters repetitively.
So, he just vaporized the monsters he came across with 'Dragon Spirit Haki'.
'Exit! I finally found an exit!'
His four months of accumulated effort finally paid off. Rimuru bounced closer to investigate the huge double iron doors.
Destroying it wasn't the difficult part. The better question was, should he do that? 'Nah, screw these doors!'
This was such a great opportunity for him to try out his magic. Since magic usually required immense concentration and chanting, Rimuru hadn't tested it on those cave-dwelling monsters yet.
The doors would be a good target practice as it wouldn't dodge his spell.
«Notice. Because of the Sub-Skill 'Chant Annulment', the chanting is not a problem for Master. I can concentrate on the magic for you as well.»
'I'm not surprised. Great Sage-san is simply amazing.'
«I appreciate the compliment and will continue to improve. If it is possible, please allow me to choose the spell we are about to perform.»
'Have it your way, Great Sage-san. I believe in you!'
He had and would continue to put immense trust in her. Rimuru pointed his Slime tendrils forward, and let Great Sage take the wheel.
The energy came gathering in the palms of his 'hands', and then there was a loud boom.
His attack, the blue rays of light, turned the iron doors to ashes, creating a powerful earthquake in the process.
'Isn't that my Drago Buster?!'
That was Veldanava's Star magic.
'I can still use that?!'
The Star King Dragon's signature True Dragon magic used Stardust as its source of power instead of magicules. He didn't even know that he still had it.
«Notice. Master was born with a reasonable amount of Stardust.»
«Because there is a limited amount of Stardust in our possession. Master has to use it with caution.»
'How dare you say that after using that supposed 'limited amount' to blow away the rusty doors?!'
«Notice. I want to prove if it can be used by you in the first place.»
Great Sage told Rimuru that she wouldn't knowingly waste any resource, especially one as rare as Stardust.
She said something along the lines of, Rimuru was different from Veldanava on a fundamental level, so she had to test if Rimuru's body could handle it first.
But let's ignore those complicated stuff for now, Rimuru wanted to focus on his newly acquired freedom.
He could breathe fresh air again after spending months in that cave. He bounced around the tranquil forest.
'Hmm... How strange...' He hadn't met any monsters or animals yet despite how abundant-looking the forest looked.
He was a Slime on the move, until he was surrounded by Goblins. Although he should feel threatened by them. Their malnourished bodies and damaged tools didn't exude that feeling at all.
