Mariabell was on the run. She had to admit that a miscalculation had put her in a dire situation, but she hadn't given up hope yet. Mariabell thought she could win, which was the reason she ran deep into the catacomb.

Mariabell's strongest pawn, Yuuki, was doing his best to distract that body double. Meanwhile, the Chaos Dragon was keeping Demon Lord Rimuru and Demon Lord Milim occupied.

This circumstance would give her enough time to pull out her final option.

Yuuki's report included information about the ancient ruin 'Soma'. Assuming that 'Amrita' was built by the same Elven civilization, it must have a magic core that she could overload.

A large-scale destruction from the magic reactor core would kill Rimuru. He wouldn't have a chance to resist it.

She arrived at the center of this tomb, yet there was no device mentioned in the report. The entire place was empty. The graves were empty, and there weren't even any jewels or decorations. Actually, there were some treasures on the ground, but the real valuables—the magic reactor cores—were missing.

"Strange, how strange. How is this possible?" Mariabell couldn't help but ask.

"Ahahahaha! There was never such a thing as a central control of a reactor in this ruin."

"Uh—?!"

"Neither was there anything like that in 'Soma'."

"...Yuuki, is that you?"

"It is me." Yuuki stepped out of the shadows with Kagali by his side.

"Aren't you fighting that accursed body double—?"

"We are done fighting. I can't win, so I forfeit. What can I say? Rimuru-san is a force of nature rather than a person. No wonder the infamous Storm Dragon listens to whatever he says."

Yuuki had been aware of Rimuru's absolute power. Since their first meeting, even before Rimuru took the title Demon Lord for himself, Yuuki knew he couldn't win against that kind of strength.

He had tried his best to avoid any direct conflict with Rimuru, yet Clayman always went against his order.

Yuuki only knew just recently that Clayman was influenced by some external force. At first he thought it was pride as a Demon Lord that made him act reckless, but this revelation helped explain a lot.

But he could spend time thinking about that later. A bigger problem existed, and he had to deal with it now. There was no doubt about it, Rimuru already knew that Yuuki had a connection to Clayman.

To clear himself of every suspicion, Yuuki joined Mariabell in this plan. They, however, weren't on the same side. Yuuki was just using her.

"I was almost sweating watching it happen. I was seriously worried that you had truly betrayed us."

"Hahaha. I'm a good actor, ain't I? I figured it would be more authentic if I can trick my own allies as well," Yuuki replied to Kagali's statement.

"I suppose, it doesn't matter now. Although Yuuki-sama was severely beaten, he had executed the plan perfectly."

Yuuki and Kagali chatted happily. Seeing this, Mariabell realized that she had been deceived by him.

"Lying. You are lying. How did you manage to crack my 'Greed'?"

It was unbelievable, but Mariabell could only accept this reality. At this point, she was more interested as to how and when he overcame her 'Greed'.

"How?"
