Yesterday's meeting was a success. Tempest and Luberius had signed a nonintervention treaty and agreed to improve a diplomatic relation between them. That would be an official report at least.

In reality, due to their rulers being blood-related, the Nation of Monsters and the Holy Empire had become allied countries thanks to them. Blood was thicker than water indeed.

Rimuru was in the jewelry store, looking for a necklace that he thought Ciel might want. It was a bit too late to tell him that she meant a collar; nonetheless, she would appreciate anything given to her by her Master.

He didn't come alone; Rimuru also brought with him Ramiris and Veldora who had nothing better to do.

"Great Rimuru, are you looking for anything in particular?" The Goblin who was the store owner asked. It wasn't everyday that you got to serve the king and Demon Lord himself.

"Hmm... Any advice would be great. I don't know much about jewelry."

"Oh, I see. Can you tell me more about the details?"

Rimuru thought for a few seconds before saying, "Are there any necklaces that might look good on me?"

"Anything would look good on you, Great Rimuru."

"Oh, c'mon!"

The store could make a customized piece of jewelry as well, but Rimuru didn't go with it. 'It won't end well if you let my imagination run wild, so I will just choose one.'

Out of a dozen necklaces the store owner presented to him, there was one that caught Rimuru's eyes. It was a necklace made out of pure silver, attached to it was a dew ruby.

A red gem like ruby always reminded Rimuru of Ciel, especially her eyes. Realizing that, Rimuru bought it with a gold coin.

A quality ruby necklace was usually worth around 50,000-400,000 yen, so paying it in gold coin, which was worth 1,000,000 by itself, might be a little overkill.

After getting the gift for Ciel, Rimuru turned to those he brought with. "You two, have you got what you want yet?"

Veldora and Ramiris ran to Rimuru. Their eyes were sparkling like that of a child who was about to get a new toy. Since they didn't have money of their own, the products had to be paid out of Rimuru's pocket as always.

"What do you have there, Ramiris?"

Ramiris, who was currently in her Queen form, replied, "These? They're gemstone bracelets."

She told Rimuru that she planned to dismantle and test it. She read from a manga that gemstones were a good conductor of magic, so she wanted to try it for herself.

It was this kind of curiosity that led to many great discoveries, although Rimuru would be happier if it was used on something more productive.

"Yeah, I will pay for you." Rimuru gave her a nod of approval.

"I found this in a pile, and it reminds me of Lumi."

"A pile?"

Veldora pointed to a pile of gems at the corner of the room.

"Oh, those are gems I bought from a passing merchant. He offered me a carriage full of it. I leave it there because I don't have time to sort it just yet," the store owner said.

That pile wasn't for sale, but the owner was kind enough to make an exception for Veldora. He was basically Tempest's guardian deity; of course, he would get a special treatment.

What Veldora found was indeed a strange piece of gem. 'A sapphire? No, its color is a little...'

It had both red and blue hues in itself. 'Gems can do that?'
