A fierce battle raged within the inner sanctum. As Roy and Louis threw every sort of attack at Laplace, the Wonder Pierrot just dodged them all, almost teasingly.

He was toying with the twin.

"Hahaha! Is that the best ya both can do? Ain't you too weak to be the member of the Octagram's direct lackeys?"

"Shut up, clown!" The hot-headed of the two, Roy, launched himself at Laplace in order to land a devastating hand-chop.

Yet the difference in power revealed itself. "Ya are too reckless." Laplace moved to the side, easily dodged that as well. "How about I teach you an unforgettable lesson?"

"What are you talking about—"

Before Roy could finish his sentence, the combo starter had already been landed.

Laplace's fist had made contact with Roy's face.

'As long as we don't antagonize that slime, we can do anything—including this!'

He punched and kicked Roy in every direction. Every attack was faster than Roy could meaningfully react to. Every time the attack connected, it generated a shockwave.

Laplace ended it with a backflip kick.

Roy, as soon as he found his ground, was shouting and staring at Laplace, "Don't get too cocky now, trash!"

Roy healed up immediately thanks to his 'Ultraspeed Regeneration'. His face was red due to rage and embarrassment.

His hand rubbed away the blood he had splashed out, no, he was turning it into a red mist of blood fog.

"Die! 'Blood Ray'!"

An inescapable attack was supposed to come out, yet nothing happened.

"It's too late. Ya are already dead."

"Wah—!"

Laplace was holding onto something, something red and beating.

It was Roy's heart (core).

"Ya both are too weak for me to get serious, but I still don't like to be teamed up on. Let's lessen the number, shall we?"

"What are you—"

In that moment, Laplace destroyed Roy's core with his bare hand. Roy might be underestimating his enemies, but he wasn't weak by any means.

Roy was as strong as Laplace's boss, Demon Lord Kazalim, yet Laplace killed him without any difficulty.

Simply put, Laplace was strong.

"How dare you—!" Color escaped his face as he let out that final scream.

Roy, the 'Bloody Lord', had died.

"So, it's a fair duel now!" Laplace was still soaked in Roy's blood, yet he already started taunting Louis, expecting the death of his brother to discourage Louis.

"Indeed, my brother was too reckless for his own good."

"Oi, oi, oi? Aren't ya going to shed a tear or something?" Laplace was surprised by Louis's calm and detached reaction.

"Why should I do that?"

"Ain't he your big bro?"

"We are not that close. Don't just call me his bro either. My name's Louis, the Pope of the Holy Empire."

He spent no time weeping; instead, Louis was taking a fighting stance.

'Really? I just easily killed off his bro, who is stronger than him, and he still wants to fight me? Should I call him bold or stupid?'
