Rimuru stared at the sword he made for Raphael. Because it was made from God's tail, it was undoubtedly a divine construct.
'Do you want me to name it as well?'
«Notice: It is unnecessary. I won't have any opportunity to use it anyway.»
'Eh? So is my effort in vain?'
«Notice: I cannot bear the thought of a gift from Master being tainted.»
Ruthless! Rimuru blushed. Raphael - when she didn't tease him - had more destructive power than he imagined.
Raphael chose to leave the sword unnamed, and Rimuru respected her decision. Using Predator, he sent the sword straight into Stomach.
Back then Heavenly Demon - Veldanava's sword - used to have the same fate. Existing for the sake of formality, not usage. So Rimuru was fine with leaving it there. It was meant for Raphael, and she decided what to do with it.
"Yo! Thanks for letting me borrow the crucible." Rimuru returned to Kaijin's workshop.
Kaijin started looking around the crucible as soon as it returned to his hands. "It is in better shape than I thought."
"What is that! Don't tell me you expect me to break it!"
"Let's be honest here. You have a bad habit of eating strange things. So I couldn't help but to be worried."
'It isn't like I eat everything that can fit in my mouth...'
Thinking that he had nothing to do, Rimuru talked with Kaijin and Kurobe. Rimuru couldn't help it, he showed off his latest creation. A kanata that was kept inside a pelt-covered sheath.
Pulling the sword out of its sheath, the blade gleamed in cyan light toying with lookers' eyes before returning to an unassuming, regular blade.
"What do you think? I put in a lot of effort."
Both blacksmiths analyzed the sword in their hands. "It looks promising. There isn't any mistake made on the blade itself as well. Have you made any weapon before this one?"
Rimuru replied to Kurobe, "This is my first time."
Both of them were surprised before looking down at the sword again. If it wasn't for his confirmation, they wouldn't know that this was the work of an amateur.
"You really have a talent for it."
"Not at all," Rimuru humbly replied. It wasn't even his own talent. In fact, this project only succeeded thanks to Kaijin and Kurobe's techniques that Raphael copied.
"And the material used..." Kurobe knocked on the blade with his knuckle. "...I have never seen anything like this before. What is it, Rimuru-sama?"
"It's called "Hihiirokane"."
Their eyes widened. Hihiirokane was the legendary metal rumored among blacksmiths for centuries. They thought Rimuru was kidding, but as time passed and the punchline didn't come. The truth prevailed in front of them.
The sword Rimuru allowed them to hold was made from divine steel, and that excited them. Rimuru was always full of surprises.
At first, Rimuru thought about telling them how to make Hihiirokane on their own. But they stopped him.
For Kurobe and Kaijin, the confirmation of its existence alone was enough. They would find a way to create it on their own. They said it was a blacksmith's pride.
Rimuru came out of the cave at the right time. He spent weeks making weapons. If he was in there a little longer, he would have missed a meeting with the messenger of the lizardman tribe.
