The first round of the martial arts tournament was between Adalmann and Zegion.
"What a turn of events! Both were told by Great Demon Lord Rimuru to seek the glory of the Four Heavenly Kings, yet their first opponent is each other—Is this a coincidence or a test from the divine?"
"To the adventurers gathered here: I want you to see for yourselves. These are guardians of the marvelous dungeon that will open tomorrow!"
Soka sure was great at hyping up the crowd.
Rimuru also appreciated that she kept advertising the dungeon. He, Veldora and Ramiris put in a lot of effort, so it would be a shame if there weren't enough challengers tomorrow.
And about Zegion and Adalmann, Rimuru remembered that he had heard about those two's exploits from Treyni and Shuna before.
Under those armor-like exoskeleton and extravagant robe, they were a pair of extremists who wanted to impress Rimuru with their strengths and devotions.
If Ciel approached them on her own, then that devotion must be very, very potent. 'I don't know what Ciel gave them or did to them, but making her spill the beans will just ruin all the fun, right?'
"You impersonated me without my permission. I might punish you if this isn't worth my time," Rimuru said, not in a threatening manner but a teaseful one.
"Please do."
"Aren't you an adventurous one?"
Rimuru chuckled. He tried to come up with a punishment for Ciel several times, but he hadn't found a method that she wouldn't enjoy just yet.
But enough about the pervert, the fight was about to start.
In the marble fighting ring, Zegion and Adalmann were standing eye to eye. There was no bad blood between them since both prided themselves as Great Rimuru's devotees, but they wouldn't hold back in a fight either.
"Sir Zegion, I respect you and what you stand for, but the position among the Four Heavenly Kings is mine."
"I will not hold back as well. Great Veldora has taught me that such an action is a mockery to your opponent. I will serve Great Rimuru as the Four Heavenly Kings. It's not wishful but guaranteed."
They were flared up, determined to prove themselves in front of Rimuru.
"Let the first round begin!" Soka announced before exiting the ring. She was unable to read their true strengths, but they must be real deals if Benimaru and Diablo of all people praised them.
Their Auras were released as they stared each other down. The Auras were so rich to the point that it manifested in the physical realm for everyone to see.
Signifying their ranks as powerful Demon Lord Seeds, the Auras gleamed deep purple.
Despite them being in the same class of existence, Zegion was undeniably stronger.
'I'm a man of faith, but I'm not delusional enough to think that I stand a chance,' Adalmann thought. 'Yet I will rise to the top using the gift Great Rimuru bestowed to me!'
"Come forth, 'Al-Azif'!"
A leather-clad book manifested and floated next to Adalmann.
'Book of Magic Necronomicon' was the Ultimate gift given to him by Ciel. It was made specifically just for him.
This Ultimate gift possessed two main attributes: the Sub-skills and the summonable equipment.
Al-Azif was a magic tome that allowed Adalmann to prepare and store spells across its pages. These spells could then be deployed whenever he wanted without any use of magicules.
