'Where am I?' Hinata was on the edge of a bottomless abyss, fighting the temptation that was almost irresistible. 'Ahh, so sleepy.'

Her life flashed before her eyes—the memories of her past to the present.

'Right, I remember. When I was young, my father would spend time playing with me.'

Since she could only see the present, Hinata had forgotten these memories.

In the past, Hinata once had a normal family. But everything went to hell when her father's company went bankrupt.

Had father not strayed to sinful ways, mother wouldn't have gone insane. Hinata did not have the slightest intention of imagining just how much he was suffering.

That was why she still hated him. She lived in hatred. Unable to forgive her father's sins, Hinata focused the blame on him just to justify her own actions.

A common trait in Humans was their weak hearts. Her father was the same.

'Heh, maybe that's why I pursued the shadow of my father in that man,' she thought to herself melancholically.

Hinata's heart had struggled and was about to burst until he appeared.

It was such a shame that her feelings would never be vocalized. If she ever shared this sentiment to him, it would trouble him a lot. She wanted to avoid it at all costs.

Hinata had learned that relationships were fragile. Her family was a great example; what seemed to be a warm family crumbled in an instant because of a fanancial mistake.

To this day, she was afraid of forming a relationship. What if something went wrong and it crumbled again?

She feared the possibility of it greatly, which was the reason why she kept everyone at arm's length.

She had rectified some mistakes. Her relationship with Shizu-sensei had gotten a lot better than where she left it the last time, and she had mentored a student of her own, a student she could look at and be proud of.

And yet they were exceptions and not the norms. There was a certain idiot who she had taken interest in, but she was too much of a coward to speak what she really thought.

'How regrettable.' She had died, so all she could do was to contemplate on her past and present actions.

Hinata wondered what kind of fate was waiting for her. Luminous had told her in the past that Saints were excluded entirely from the Samsara system. When they died, Saints would be welcomed into the resting place, the Promised Land.

'I am by no means a complete Saint, so I don't think that's where I will end up.'

Part of her questioned just how valid Luminous's statement was. Was there really a paradise out there? How did she even know of that place in the first place?

'Luminous-sama is related to the God of Creation, so maybe I should have expected that sort of afterlife knowledge from her.'

She had made up her mind, accepting her death as the result of her incompetence, thus holding no grudge against Granbell.

'Thinking is too tiresome. I have grown tired. I just want to rest in this dark abyss—'

Hinata's consciousness was devoured by darkness. Her senses disappeared, and her doubts vanished.

«You can't fall asleep!»

An intense call woke Hinata up.

'Is that... Chloe?'
