An hour after the conclusion of Walpurgis—

Rimuru returned to Tempest after a long night of Walpurgis. 'It's kinda draining.' He was mentally exhausted from all the fighting and meetings he participated in. It was already the morning of the next day when Rimuru arrived.

It might take the whole night for Walpurgis to conclude, but nonetheless, everyone was waiting for him.

"Rimuru!" Veldora jumped in to hug him. "That daemon didn't try to do something funny, right?" He was like a mix of an overprotective brother and a golden retriever, which was kind of adorable.

"Yeah!" Ramiris also joined in. "Guy is infamous for his inability to respect personal space, so I was cheering—Wait, that's not what I mean!"

"Guess who would be banned from reading manga for several weeks?"

"Ah, is it Master?"

Veldora became defensive after that. "What did I do to deserve that fate?!"

"Because Veldora caused a problem!" She then pointed out that the fight between him and Velzard didn't have to happen at all if he was a bigger person and let her win the argument.

"I made myself useful! What about you! What did you do?"

"I was being a level-headed person and didn't join in!"

"'Level-headed'? That's a nice synonym for slacking off!"

Rimuru found their childish banter to be quite entertaining, these two had grown so close to each other in such a short timespan. It was quite cute seeing them like this.

Rimuru let them be and turned to his subordinates and citizens instead. Everyone was kneeling down, awaiting his arrival.

"Rigurd, what's the meaning of this?"

"Great Rimuru, it fills us with joy to know about your induction into the Octagram!"

It turned out that Diablo and Testarossa who came back before had informed Rigurd about the series of events unfolding during the Banquet.

And Rigurd then organized this warm welcome for Rimuru.

"I do appreciate it, but this is a little embarrassing..."

Rimuru went straight back to his office with the Primordials following him, Rigurd and Shion as well. Meanwhile, Zegion and Treyni-san would return to the Dryad Village for the time being.

"I wonder how Ultima is doing."

Diablo served him sweets, and Testarossa poured him a cup of tea.

"There's nothing to worry, Lord Rimuru. Even if she fails, I will make sure to clean up her mess," Diablo said.

Rimuru had no doubt that his words were more than empty threats. He was a capable man with many skills under his belt, why not add overthrowing the nation into the mix as well?

He added, "I will make them fall like the Byzantine."

'And he starts saying weird stuff again... What the hell is he talking about?'

Come to think of it, Diablo was wandering the world for 2,000 years. Didn't that mean he had seen, or at least aware of every significant event that happened in the Common Era?

There should be a lot he didn't know since he wasn't omnipresent, but Rimuru was sure that he knew more.

"You don't believe in her?"

"Ultima tends to get her emotions involved, so I am worried that we might get to see a bloodbath instead of the birth of a new nation."

Diablo's concern was rooted in reality. Daemons from the Purple Lineage were known for their whimsical nature and cruelty, and this was its king we were talking about.
