Manas Ciel didn't have the most honorable reputation. Those who were her acquaintances would describe her to be intelligent yet callous. Yet at this moment, she acted like a completely different person.
"How cute. You remind me a lot of my master. I guess that is the point; the mirror would reflect one's deepest wish, and I just happened to wish for a daughter," Ciel said.
The skill Megalomania made her with Rimuru and Ciel in mind, which didn't say much since they looked the same.
Still, the slime's human form, as it was shown in the mirror, seemed to be unique from her components. She had Rimuru's overall body, Ciel's eyes, and pink hair for some reason.
"Can you turn into your human form? I have to confirm something."
"Gyu?" The slime was confused. On its head, a question mark made out of its slime cells popped up.
"You can't do that? I see."
Ciel knew for a fact that the form did exist, but the slime couldn't change at will. Just like Veldora before her, the slime didn't have enough mastery over its power to take a human form yet.
"It's fine. I won't rush you. Take your time to train." Usually, she would get rid of creations that couldn't match her expectation, but she decided to be more lenient this time.
Yes, she played favorites. She just couldn't help herself. It was the same level of favoritism that Rimuru had for Milim, and Ciel wasn't ashamed of it.
"Come to think of it, I haven't named you yet," Ciel said, "How about "Shinsha"? Do you like that name?"
However, it wasn't a name in the truest sense, as in it didn't get carved into her soul yet, so it didn't trigger any evolution or something unpredictable.
Ciel would love for Rimuru to be one to properly name her, but that could wait. She had to make sure that Shinsha was presentable first.
"Gyu!"
"You love it, don't you?"
"Gyu!"
As of now, Shinsha couldn't talk yet. That was to be expected; she was just a newborn after all.
"You still have a lot to learn, little girl. And isn't it convenient that your mother is the smartest person ever?"
Ciel placed Shinsha on her desk with a gleeful smile.
It was at that moment when the door to her room was kicked open. Alerted by the loud noise, Shinsha went to hide under the desk.
"Wisdom King, we are back!"
"Shh. Lower your voice. You are scaring her," Ciel scolded Rael who just came back after she sent him to fetch something that a slime could eat.
"Sorry, sorry."
"Don't worry, Shinsha. He's not a stranger, just your lousy brother," Ciel said.
"We are her brother?"
"Of course," Ciel replied, "I also made you, remember?"
While Gluttony King Beelzebuth had the potential to gain individuality from the beginning, it was Ciel who made the final decision and allowed that consciousness to prosper.
Shinsha, hearing what Ciel said, slowly came out of her hiding to see various food lying around. Ciel wasn't sure about Shinsha's preferred food, so she had told Rael to get a variety of it.
"Gyu?"
Shinsha went to investigate each one like a curious child, but she didn't eat any of them. Unlike Rael who ate basically everything, Shinsha showed to be quite a picky eater.
