Spatial Domination brought Rimuru, Ranga and the Daemons to the Sealed Cave. When he arrived, he saw both Vesta and Gabiru, their faces were serious.
"What happened here?"
"Great Rimuru! You're back!" Their faces showed more hope. "There are barriers all over the city and I cannot contact my subordinates inside," Gabiru explained.
Raphael had been talking about these barriers too. They were the reason why Rimuru's Spatial Domination was blocked and he couldn't teleport straight into the capital city.
"Let me see it."
Vesta and Gabiru led the way. Outside of the barriers, Souei, Souka and others were trying to destroy the translucent barriers.
"Souei!"
"Great Rimuru!" He and Souka knelt down. "Sorry for letting you see me in this state." He was injured, with blood and everything.
Souka said that Souei was injured in his attempts to cross the barrier. "This is nothing." Even if he said that, Vesta still came forward and healed him with a full potion.
Treyni-san said, "Zegion already went in there. But other than him, no-one has managed to go in or come out of it."
'Zegion? That beatle?'
But that was the least of Rimuru's concern. He walked closer to the compound barrier and used Sub-skill 'Analytical Appraisal.'
«It's a 'Prison Field,' a weaker version of the 'Holy Field' performed by the individual: "Hinata Sakaguchi."»
Though weaker, it was still a barrier made out of Holicules, a fundamental energy which was effective against a Magicule-based life-form like monsters.
Everything that required Magicules, from Shadow Motion, Spatial Motion and even Thought Communication couldn't cross this wall of Holicules to the other side.
Rimuru summoned the Veldanava Sword and cut the barrier down just like what he did to Hinata's, opening a path for everyone.
But a few seconds later, another Prison Field was deployed, this time when Rimuru and others were inside it.
«These 'Prison Fields' might be a product of a magic device, if the device or devices is still intact, it will continue to appear.»
For Rimuru it was just a mild annoyance, but for others this was an obstacle that could render them powerless. 'Why is it deployed in the first place?' When he considered the possibility, it was concerning.
«...»
'What is it, Raphael-san?'
«I detected 103 souls within this compound barrier, all of them are connected to Master via the Soul Corridor.»
Hearing that, Rimuru started running. He saw destroyed buildings along his way, the scent of ashes and cinders still lingered in the air. 'No, no, no, no, no! Not like this! Not this again!'
The picture of a ruined town was too familiar for him. He had seen it before, on that unforgettable fateful day.
"Is everyone alright?!"
Rimuru ran into the most populated area he could find. Rigurd soon approached him, kneeling down. He told Rimuru that hours before there was an attack from the Nation of Falmuth, the city was in ruins due to said invasion.
"We already distributed full potions to those who were injured."
Rimuru breathed out a sigh of relief. "Is that so... That means there are no casualties, right...?"
