Mikami Satoru was your average salary man. He was working with a sort-of-big construction company. He climbed the ranking ladder to become a department manager. He got paid a large sum every month, making his life slightly better than your usual salary man. But sadly, he failed embarrassingly when it came to romance.

He was 37 years olds, but never had a girlfriend. Though he didn't find it to be that big of a deal. He still had time to find his soulmate. He could start seriously finding one in his 40s and that wouldn't be a problem at all.

After all, he didn't plan to have a child, so the age he found someone to grow old with, it could be his late 30s or his early 40s, it wasn't that much different to him. With that in mind, he only aimed forward to advance in his work, creating a stable future for himself first and for all.

"I'm back."

"Welcome back, my lord. I already prepared a dinner and a tub of warmed water for you. Please choose what you prefer~"

"Always professional, huh?"

"Kukukuku...Of course I am. I can't bear the thought of letting you down."

Satoru shared his condominium with Noir. He was a butler who cleaned, prepared meals and did chores for him.

He was strange. Maybe "strange" was kind of an understatement.

Satoru couldn't remember how he met or what inspired him to bring Noir to live under the same roof, but thanks to Noir's contribution at home, Satoru could focus fully on his work.

After a bath, he changed into pajamas and went to the dining room where Noir was waiting for him.

Today's menu was unadon, Japanese grilled eel served over a bed of steamed rice. Not only was he a great butler, Noir was also an unparalleled chef. He could make dishes from many countries. If Satoru wanted to eat, he could make it. Though being a bit of a traditional man himself, Satoru's order always revolved around Japanese dishes.

"Come to think about it. Tomorrow is your pay day, right?" Satoru said while eating, "I don't want to meddle into your personal life, but I just wonder, what did you do with your money?"

Satoru never saw Noir spend money on anything other than groceries. He didn't splurge his money on his hobby, he didn't eat outside and he didn't go out that often either. So Satoru couldn't help but question.

"Every yen went straight to the bank, of course," Noir replied with a proud smile, "I am saving it for you to use in your retirement."

"Oi! Oi! Oi! Don't you think you went too far with this one?" This was the first time he had heard of it. As he said before, Noir was enigmatic and weird, a normal butler wouldn't go this far for their employer.

"Not at all. In fact, I don't think I have done enough yet." The young butler smirked devilishly. "Think about it. When you eventually grow old, other than elderly allowance, you still need more money to live your best retirement."

"I already have my own savings!"

"Even better! Now you have your own savings and my savings to use! Kukuku..."

"You little..." Satoru sighed. He knew arguing with Noir when he already set his mind on something never worked.

"Are you planning to stick with me until you grow old yourself? Don't you plan to get married, start a family or something?" Satoru asked. Noir seemed to be in his 20s. He would be extremely popular among the ladies if he went outside a lot more and not glared at everyone as if he wanted to slaughter them.

"Married? I will pass on that." He shook his head. "My happiness comes from being in your presence. And if I end up married, who will take care of you? It isn't like you have a descendant to take care of you."
