"Love"

Paradise Manor

The two years had passed in a blur of activity and laughter. Now, two years later, the family of four looked different than when we last saw them.

Xie Lian was a handsome and composed father. Hua Cheng, of course, didn't age at all, still looking as young and handsome as ever. And the twins, Xiuying and Huan, were already showing glimpses of their distinct personalities.

Xiuying was the more curious and adventurous of the two, often getting into trouble with his mischievous antics.

Huan, on the other hand, was quieter and more thoughtful, always observing and thinking carefully before acting.

Xie Lian never had the chance to see Shuang again after their previous meeting, and they had lost touch in the years that followed.

Xie Lian occasionally thought about her, wondering how she had grown and what she was doing now, but time and distance had kept them apart.

Xie Lian turned to Hua Cheng, a thoughtful expression on his face. "San Lang," he began, his voice soft and gentle. "Can I ask you something?"

Hua Cheng tore his gaze away from the twins, who were playing nearby. "Anything, gege," he answered, his eye finding Xie Lian's and holding them. "What is it?"

Xie Lian took a moment to choose his words, his gaze dropping for a moment to the floor before returning to Hua Cheng's face. "Do you ever think about Shuang?"

A wave of nostalgia washed over Hua Cheng as Xie Lian mentioned Shuang. He hadn't thought about his sister in a long time, and the mention of her name stirred up memories.

"Shuang... What of her, gege?" He asked, his voice a mix of curiosity and caution.

Xie Lian tilted his head, studying Hua Cheng's expression.

He could tell that the mention of Shuang had provoked some strong emotions in his husband, and he moved closer to him, one hand reaching out to touch his arm.

"I was just wondering, San Lang," he said gently. "It's been so long since we've heard from her... How is she doing?"

"Our Yue'er has also grown up, hasn't she?" Added Xie Lian.

Hua Cheng's expression softened as he thought about his sister, his eyes losing some of their darkness. "She has, gege," he said.

"Time has passed so quickly... It seems like just yesterday she was a little girl, clinging to my leg and calling me. Now she's all grown up and off studying. I bet she's having the time of her life."

Xie Lian's voice broke into Hua Cheng's musings, drawing his attention back to the present.

"I was wondering," he began, his tone tentative but curious,

"do you ever miss her? I know it's been a long time since you've seen her, but I can't help but think that you must miss your little sister."

Hua Cheng's expression softened even further as he looked at Xie Lian.

He did miss Shuang, more than he cared to admit.

"Sometimes, yes," he confessed quietly.

"Sometimes I find myself thinking about her, wondering what she's doing and if she's happy. It's hard, knowing she's so far away and we haven't seen each other in so long."

"Let's visit her..?"

Hua Cheng's eye widened slightly in surprise at Xie Lian's suggestion. "Visit her?" he repeated, as if he couldn't quite believe what he had just heard. "You think we should go see her?"
