Oboro...

Quirk: cloud

Death: collapsed building

Day 1
We used him to test the new quirk. His cloud quirk should make the teleportation quirk act different. We have to test it before we continue on testing the other Nomu.

Day 46
The kid somehow survived. He's in pain though. If only we could turn his senses off...

Day 179
We managed to make him listen to simple commands. It needs perfecting. No other nomus can possibly be as detailed as we can make this one. The technique is too heavy... we can't combine it with the amount of quirks we're giving the others.

Day 236
He's finished.

I stopped reading.
"They're just giving me evil information."
They were being honest.

The sun was setting. Mic had send me a text that I should get home already.
The city bellow was crowded. People were going home. The day was over.
The rooftop was cold today. The breeze sometimes bringing a soft rain as I sat, avoiding the edge with my life.

I ignored everything as I flipped the page.

Floating by the wind, a note slowly drifted off to the ground.

"Much more hidden," I looked at the bright sticky note Shigaraki had left before turning to the simple note that had fallen out of the files.

Why had Shigaraki wanted me to see these files in the first place?

And why didn't the guy in the chair stop me from seeing this?
I picked up the note.

Dear (y/n),

If you're reading this, then... I'm sorry.
I never meant for anything to happen. I just wanted for you to have a bright future.
I struck a deal, and I hope you're happy once you're reading this.

Sorry if you're not happy.

When I heard you had no quirk, I was devastated. Your father threatened to leave us.

I stopped reading.
My hands shook as I held the note.
Why did I glance down at the words below?
Why did I do that?

Something urged me to read on. I couldn't stop reading here.

It wasn't easy. We worked hard, like every parent does, to provide for you and your future.
I got fired, he got fired, but we continued to fight and tried getting new jobs. You being quirkless sucked, sure, but... I don't even know where I'm going with this.

I guess one day I just gave up.
I got sick, I think I got so stressed. I don't know how it is that a beautiful child like you could get cursed like that.

So I struck a deal. A life for a quirk.
I hope you're happy with your quirk.

It's funny how all that matters is your smile right now. Please remember to smile. That would make this worth it.

Love,
your mother

I stared.
My cheeks were wet.
'Your mother'
