After finishing breakfast and cleaning up the kitchen, the family decided to head out for their picnic. Naruto and Hinata gathered the essentials—blankets, baskets filled with food, and refreshing drinks—while Boruto and Himawari helped by carrying the heavier items. Sarada took charge of preparing the snacks, her culinary skills on full display as she packed sandwiches, fruits, and some of her famous homemade cookies (this time, with sugar).
Once everything was ready, they made their way to the nearby lake, a beautiful spot surrounded by lush trees and blooming flowers. The sun shone brightly in the clear blue sky, and the gentle breeze carried the sweet scent of spring.
As they arrived at the lake, everyone spread out the picnic blanket on the grass, and the anticipation for a fun-filled day began. Naruto flopped down onto the blanket, stretching out with a satisfied sigh.
“Ahh, this is what I call a perfect day!” he exclaimed, eyes closed, soaking up the sun.
“Don’t fall asleep yet, Dad!” Himawari laughed, playfully poking him. “We still have to eat!”
“Right! Food first, then naps,” Naruto chuckled, getting up to help Hinata unpack the picnic basket.
Sarada and Boruto set up the food, arranging sandwiches, fruits, and drinks neatly on the blanket. Boruto couldn’t help but sneak a few bites before the feast began.
“Hey! Leave some for everyone!” Sarada teased, smacking his hand away as he reached for another sandwich.
“Can’t help it! You make the best sandwiches, my lady,” he said with a wink, making her blush again.
Finally, they all settled on the blanket, the picnic spread out before them. As they started to eat, laughter and stories filled the air, with each family member sharing their favorite memories.
“Remember the last picnic we had here?” Hinata reminisced, a soft smile on her face. “Himawari tried to catch that fish, and ended up falling into the lake!”
Himawari groaned, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “Can we not talk about that?”
Boruto snickered. “I still can’t believe you thought you could catch a fish with your bare hands!”
“Hey, I was determined!” she defended herself, trying to sound serious but failing as a smile broke through.
As the laughter died down, Boruto leaned closer to Sarada, whispering, “YK I’ll make sure you never fall in lake, while catching the fish, promise.”
“Oh really? And how do you plan to do that?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Simple! I’ll catch the fish for you,” he grinned, flashing her a charming smile.
Sarada rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t hide her amusement. “You’re such a dork.”
Meanwhile, Naruto and Hinata were discussing plans for their next family trip, with Hinata suggesting a visit to the Hidden Sand Village. The excitement in Naruto’s voice was palpable as he talked about the potential adventures they could have.
“Let’s make it happen! I want to see Gaara again,” Naruto exclaimed, leaning forward with enthusiasm.
After they finished eating, Boruto challenged Sarada to a playful game of tag. “C’mon, Sarada! Let’s see who’s faster!” he urged, standing up and stretching his legs.
“Tag? You’re on!” Sarada replied, a competitive spark lighting up her eyes.
“Wait! You two can’t run off without me!” Himawari protested, jumping up to join them.
Naruto and Hinata watched their children with fond smiles, enjoying the sight of them playing together.
“Looks like our little ones are growing up so fast,” Hinata said, resting her head on Naruto’s shoulder.
“They sure are. But I love seeing them have fun together,” Naruto replied, his eyes twinkling with pride.
The three of them raced around the blanket, laughter echoing across the lake. Boruto, being the fastest, darted away from Sarada, who chased him fiercely, determined to catch her husband.
“Gotcha!” she yelled, finally reaching out to tag him, but he dodged at the last second, teasingly sticking out his tongue.
Himawari took advantage of the distraction and managed to tag Sarada, sending her into a fit of laughter.
“Hey! No fair!” Boruto shouted, pretending to be outraged as he ran after both of them.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, the family settled back on the blanket, exhausted but happy. They shared more stories and laughter, savoring the precious moments together, the warmth of family binding them like never before.
As the evening wore on, Sarada nestled comfortably against Boruto, their fingers intertwined. In that beautiful moment, surrounded by love and laughter, she knew that these were the days she would cherish forever.
