As the deal was struck, Boruto smirked triumphantly, leaning back with a satisfied sigh.

Boruto: You know, Sara, watching you try to outsmart me is my favorite form of entertainment.

Sarada: (rolling her eyes) You’re setting yourself up for failure, Boruto. The council alone will eat you alive.

Boruto: (grinning) They can try. But if I can handle you, Mrs. Uzumaki, I can handle anything.

Sarada threw a pillow at him, which he effortlessly caught, laughing at her playful glare.

Sarada: You’re so full of yourself. But fine, let’s see how far you get.

Boruto: Oh, I’ll get far, alright. You’ll be so impressed that you’ll start delegating work to me all the time.

Sarada: Hah, dream on. Just remember, no crying or backing out when it gets tough.

Boruto: Deal’s a deal, love.

Sarada shook her head, amused by his confidence. She leaned back against the pillows, allowing herself a rare moment of relaxation.

The next morning
Sarada woke up to find Boruto already getting ready for the day. He was dressed in his usual formal outfit—just a shirt with pants and his all-time favorite jacket.
She felt a bit worried, despite all the teasing and jokes she had made the night before, she knew all we'll that paperworks weren't his thing.

Sarada: Oh… You’re already ready?

Boruto: (grinning) Good morning, princess. Just wait and watch how I’ll handle all your work with ease.

Sarada: (frowning slightly) You can still back out, y’know? I won’t mind. (She said, genuinely concerned for him.)

Boruto: (with overconfidence) Don’t underestimate me, princess. Soon you’ll see that I can handle all your work better than you!

Sarada couldn’t help but sigh, clearly still worried, but she didn’t push him further.

Sarada: If you say so. Good luck.

Boruto: Now let’s go downstairs for breakfast. We don’t want Mom getting impatient.

As Boruto started heading toward the stairs, Sarada noticed something missing, and her heart did a small flip.

Sarada: Wait! You forgot your Hokage cloak, Mr. Temporary Hokage.

Boruto turned back and eyed the cloak in her hand. He stepped toward her, gently touching the fabric with his fingers, his expression softening.

Boruto: (sighing with a smile) Though I am taking care of your duties for a few days, this cloak… it belongs to you, Sara, and it always will.

Sarada: Boruto... (Her voice was quiet, touched by the sincerity in his words.)

Boruto: Now, come on. Go shower quickly so we can have breakfast. Mom’s probably waiting for us.

Sarada nodded, but as she walked past him, she suddenly stood on her tiptoes and pulled him down by his shirt, planting a quick kiss on his lips. Then, she smiled mischievously before heading off to the bathroom, leaving Boruto standing there, stunned.

He blushed slightly, shaking his head and smiling, already feeling the warmth of her affection, but his thoughts were still occupied with what lay ahead. He was confident that he could handle everything, even if he had no idea what he was truly getting into.

Later, downstairs during breakfast
Hinata, Naruto, and Himawari were already at the table, waiting for them. The aroma of freshly cooked food filled the room, and Sarada and Boruto walked down together, the atmosphere light and cozy.

As they entered, Hinata and Himawari were busy serving breakfast, smiling warmly at the couple.

Sarada: Good morning, Mom. Dad. Hima.

Boruto: Good morning, guys. (He said together with Sarada.)

Hinata: Good morning, dear.

Naruto: (looking at Sarada with concern) Sarada, how are you feeling now?

Sarada: (smiling softly) I’m fine, Dad. Much better than before.

Hinata stood and walked over to her daughter, placing her hand gently on Sarada’s forehead.

Hinata: A little fever is still there, but thankfully, it’s a lot better than before.

Boruto: (leaning back in his chair, teasing) It would’ve been completely down if she wasn’t so stubborn.

Sarada gave him a playful kick under the table, but Boruto easily dodged it.

Sarada: I’m not stubborn! I just— (She groaned playfully.) I’m just not used to being treated like this.

Boruto: Uh-huh, sure. Keep telling yourself that.

Hima: (glancing at Boruto with a raised brow) Oni-chan, are you going somewhere? (She asked as she noticed his formal attire.)

Sarada leaned back in her chair, rolling her eyes dramatically.

Sarada: He said he’s going to handle my work for the rest of the week.

The moment she spoke those words, Naruto nearly choked on his coffee, his eyes wide in disbelief. The table fell silent for a second before everyone broke into laughter.

Hinata and Hima were laughing quietly, while Naruto burst out in full laughter.

Naruto: (gasping for air between laughs) Are you sure, son? I mean, you do know she’s the Hokage, right?

Boruto puffed out his chest with pride, not at all fazed by the teasing.

Boruto: (grinning) Of course I do. And I’m more than up for the challenge!

Hima couldn’t contain her laughter, practically falling over the table.

Hima: Oni-chan, you’re really going to try to handle all of her work? You do realize what you’re signing up for, right?

Hinata: (still smiling, trying to hold in her laughter) I have a feeling you’ll be back sooner than you think, Boruto.

Naruto: (laughing harder) You’re gonna need all the luck in the world, kid.

Boruto, still confident, gave a dramatic salute, his grin never fading.

Boruto: I’m up for it. No turning back now. Watch and learn, folks.

Sarada watched him, a slight smile on her lips despite her earlier worries. She was proud of him, but at the same time, she knew the challenges he’d face.

Sarada: (grinning) Alright then. Let’s see how far you get, Mr. Temporary Hokage.

As they continued to enjoy their breakfast, the playful banter carried on, and while Sarada knew Boruto was in for a rough time, she couldn’t help but feel a little warmth in her chest. He truly was willing to take on anything for her—even her overwhelming Hokage duties. And no matter how much he teased her, she knew he had her back, just as she always had his.

Hima: (smiling sweetly) Good luck, Oni-chan. You’ll need it.

The rest of the family laughed together, sharing a peaceful and lighthearted moment before Boruto’s adventure as the Hokage began.
