As Inojin entered the room, he paused at the doorway, arms crossed and an exasperated expression on his face. Seeing both Boruto and Sarada sitting side by side in the classic diamond pose, heads slightly lowered as if bracing themselves for impact, he couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. They looked like two kids waiting for their scolding.
“Oh, so you’re ready for this?” Inojin asked, a hint of sarcasm in his tone, although his concern was clearly visible.
Boruto attempted a sheepish smile. “Uh… well… better to be prepared, right?”
Inojin shook his head, stepping further into the room and folding his arms more tightly. "Sarada, what were you thinking? Letting your fever spike like that and not telling anyone until it got this bad?"
Sarada winced, but she looked up at him with those big, determined eyes. “Inojin, I’m fine… really. I just… didn’t want to worry anyone.”
Inojin sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Sarada, it’s exactly that kind of thinking that makes us worry more! You can’t just push yourself like this and expect everyone to be okay with it.”
Boruto nodded, glancing over at her. “Yeah, Sarada. I told you that you need to rest more. And now even Inojin’s here to make sure you listen!”
Inojin’s gaze turned to Boruto, and he gave him a hard look. “And you! I trusted you to take care of her! How did you let this happen?”
Boruto scratched the back of his head, looking somewhat guilty. “I tried, Inojin, but you know how stubborn she is…”
Inojin huffed, clearly frustrated. “Both of you need to start taking this seriously. Sarada, you’re the Hokage, but even Hokages need rest. And Boruto, as her husband, it’s your job to make sure she doesn’t push herself into the ground.”
Sarada’s eyes softened, and she lowered her head, murmuring, “I know… I’m sorry, Inojin. I didn’t mean to make you worry.”
Inojin’s expression softened as he looked at her, his frustration fading. “Just promise me you’ll take it easy for a while. I don’t want to have to come here again because you’ve pushed yourself too far.”
Sarada nodded, looking up at him gratefully. “I promise, Inojin.”
With a small smile, Inojin sighed and glanced at both of them. “Good. Now… get some rest, both of you. And no more surprises like this, alright?”
They both nodded in unison, relieved that the scolding was over.
